hey, Well i never actually got into the beta and im just wondering how is EQ2 for someone who spend a more than average time per day playing, As in how easy is it to max out your level, Is there enugh quests to stop people from just power leveling? Basically will this game have a long life for someoen who spends al good amount of time on it per day. I like a game with some sort of grind so everyone isnt maxed out.

From what I have read... if you dont just level like a maniac.. you should be below 20 for lquite some time.. someone said theres like 30 quests you can do at 5-10 alone.. in qeynous.. supposedly up till 25 theres loads of quests and stuff, and after that theres not that many.. but that was a patch or 2 ago... there were a few peoplew ho amde it to 50 in beta.. but who knows.. they might be getting 2-3x the exp they will get when it goes live.. or maybe they will raise level cap to 100 and not tell anyone... but I figure it will take you like.. maybe 500ish hours to hit 50... probably not.. i'm not a tester.. adn that 500ish hours is my guess if you do alot of quests and level casually.. and of course have friends in game and do events...
No game will stop you powerlvling , if u wanna play 10 hours a day only fighting, you can lvl pretty fast. Now you can also do quest , which are good xp too , between fights or in fights if u need to collect stuff from dead mobs .
Last time I played , around 3 weeks ago and before the patch that slow down the fights, I was able to gain between 3/4 and 1 lvl per day when I was playing around 8 or 9 hours a day , when I was in a decent group .The xp share debt is another factor you have to take into consideration, if you re in a bad group where peeps die a lot or taking mobs too high for them , you re going to build some serious xp share debt,, even after shard recovery .
If you ve got 2 or 3 full group wipe in 2 hours , I think you will have something like 30 or 40 % xp share debt. You dont even need to fight to have xp share debt, if you group leader invite the last group member who is at the other part of the zone ,get aggro and die ,while on his way to joi the group, you will share his debt too

With any game it will be what you make it. If you decide to play 10 hours a day and just do xp groups then you will level quickly, no questions asked. But you will mis out on alot of the content in the game. When I first started playing EQ2 I was sure to take my time and fully explore all the content that was avalable to me. I spent the first 16 hours in game just on the IoR. Doing the quests, exploreing, hunting, tradeskilling, and grouping. After that I was able to spend another 24+ hours just exploring Freeport, the amount of content in this game is extrordanary. And after all this time I was only level 10.
On the other hand, I tried to set up a toon just to level as quick as I could, with this toon and grouping I was able to leave the IoR and make it upto level 14 in 8 hours. I skipped as much as I could and just worked at leveling.
Either play style is valid. If you do decide to just xp grind all the time expect to level quickly, but imo don't expect to enjoy the game as much. Hope that helps some. Late.
To max out in the game you would have to:
1. reach character level 50
2. reach crafting level 50
3. upgrade all your skills to max level
4. do enough city quests/raids to take your guild to level 50(?)
5. have all the "phat lewts" from the epic encounters.
...and probably some more stuff.
I don't think you will accomplish that before the first expansion. Even then, they are sure to raise the soft level cap.
I got to level ten in two days of moderate playing. I know it gets tougher, but its been easy leveling so far.
