completely agree - something just feels wrong there
anyway it is a great "looking" cave
the problem - absolutely nothing is going on in there
exploration for explorations sake is uhm, interesting but it is a game and something should happen - hopefully stuff will get dumped in there
i did like the "beta" comment from one poster - - - still apparently releasing within a month - just too much to add and test
thinking this game will be very interesting in a year or so
a pre thank-you to those that will be supporting this game with your hard earned cash while they develop it (not sarcasm - i actually mean that)
Tired of seeing people say it's releasing in a month. This is a closed beta. What happened to 'open beta'? After closed beta ends, which, very well might be in a month, they'll bring in an open beta. Which will take a while, and new things will be added. Also remember, there's parts of the game they have indeed built; and have tested, that haven't actually been incorporated into the game. They're releasing features one at a time (Or a few at a time), in order to make sure the game doesn't overload itself, and that the game can handle everything that goes on.
I know it's not going to happen, but man, if this game allowed for Third-Person View, I'd lifetime sub.
First person isn't hard to get used to. Due to no 'invisible stealth', they have to keep it First Person. That way, when you sneak up behind someone...they don't actually see you. Try out Oblivion, or if you want to go cheap, try Morrowind. It's pretty much the same sort of thing; and will let you see if you like First Person Combat.

naive peeps - gotta love'em
so you're tired of seeing what several developers have stated many times over the last few months
let me spell that out for you d-e-v-e-l-o-p-e-r-s
ya know - the people "developing" the game
well, anyway they could delay at the last minute - it's not like that hasn't happened before
:-)
a suggestion - mortal online forums - check it out..........

Their open beta is going to be short and small. Mark my words.
"Can dungeons once again become a great adventure..." Yes and it's called DUNGEONS and dragons online, oddly enough it has a lot of well thought out and very fun dungeons.
Now as for this video, a dark dungeon and a torch does not an adventure make. Even if they end up making this dungeon beautiful it doesn't make an adventure. You can fill any dungeon with the same old here's some guys scattered around, some even patrol, and then you kill them all and defeat a boss or get an item. This video says absolutly nothing as to whether the dungeons will be a great adventure or not.

Honestly, I think the level designers and artists should get the most credit for this game, because the gameplay is atrocious and it's only bearable if you can look at the world design as a whole which at least, makes it pleasing to the eyes.

hmmm... how many mmo's are out there require you to bring materials to build a bridge? How many MMO's out there allow anyone to enter the cave/dungeon at the same time? How many mmo's do you know that actually require you to take a torch with you to see? We are talking about a game that has good immersion already and can potentially grow deeper. Ohhh... did I also mention how there is no map.. So one does not know where they are going in the cave/dungeon and can potentially get lost.
Really, people think... Stop trolling and actually think of potential. Think of how horrible DF was at launch... How little content there was in the PvE world. The only thing in that game was world pvp. That was the only thing keeping it alive until they could get in the money and add more content.

Hopefully they make some doors that open, secret doors are always cool, trap doors are always cool, switches, chest and such would be cool as well.
I like the swimming idea. I like it when they make must jump parts of dungeons. Like the fire dungeon in AC where you have to jump up the whole time, that was sweet.
Some monsters obviously done right with all or some of the above would complete it.
If they can fill this game in right and have a good game play, crafting, housing, etc. it could be a good game. It was nice looking so good job to the developers there.
You just need to FINISH it, have a good release (make it brainless to find the game, install it, setup and have easy to use billing), good server reliability, limited crashing, fews bugs, and HAVE SOMETHING FUN TO DO.
Maybe a MO fah could start a post explaining the following:
How is the PvP handled? Is there instances BG style pvp? How is the open world pvp handled? How is the open world handled (think there isn't zones with mountain to coral people?)? How is death handled? Housing?

PvP is all open world. You can attack anyone, any time, anywhere, although if you're in a town or next to a priest they can call the guards on you if you become grey flagged. There are no BGs or instances, it's all one big, beautiful, seamless world. Death results in you losing everything on you, your entire inventory and equipment. It isn't hard to get that stuff back, though, so it's not really a big deal, just an inconvenience. Housing is done by players buying house plans and finding a location they like where they can build it. If you right click the plan it will show you "ghost houses" all around as you walk, to show you where a house can be built. Once you decide on a spot, you use the plan and it will create a base structure with a chest in the center. Here you can add the materials required to build the house (wood, ore and metal) and start to work on it with your friends. Players need to actually work on it in order to build it quickly. Houses have storage so they can be used as personal banks. You need a key to open the door, which you can drop and people can use it to get into your house if they know where you live. You can always change the locks though.
The world itself is mostly accessible, every so often there will be a mountain that is too steep to go over (until they add the rock climbing skill ) but other than that you can go anywhere you can see. It's a very immersive game, I think. I've never been more immersed in a game. Unless you're the kind of person who only cares about PvP, though, it's no where near ready for release. I'd suggest paying close attention to what they add with each patch until release. It probably won't be worth playing for anyone who enjoys PvE or a lot of variety in play style until at least 6 months after release.
Even though it's nowhere near release ready, the feeling of exploration is amazing in the game. No other game has had me as excited about coming over that next hill as Mortal Online. You never know what you'll find. The devs have done an amazing job with designing the first continent. I can't wait to see what they have in store on the other five.

I too hope that they are able to hammer out any problems swiftly. Glad to see your positive side!

I like your positive attitude about it, but that's not really why I said it'd be short and small.
They have enough problems keeping the server stable with ~200 users for a 'big event'... just think of an open beta.

You do know that the event was for stress testing thes server and nodes, seeing how many people can be in one area at a time.
My sig is just as logical as your posts are
