Just starting today

So i just finished downloading the game and after hearing about how theres so much pvp even before endgame i am very excited to play.My only fear is being so hyped for pvp and than....not finding anyone to kill.So before i bound myself to an awfully dead server.Can anyone tell me what server tends to have the most active guild and pvpvcommunity.I really dont wanna turn away from this game due to the fact i find nobody to interact with.I currently started a player on Mordreth ( i think thats the name) which was the only pvp server i saw available and i have not seen a single person in my first 5 levels.Anyone that can help me out or has a guild on a active server that can give me there input on some of these things would be greatly appreciated.Thanks = )

That is because Mordred is pretty much a dead server. Recently, all of the classic and regular ruleset servers were merged into one server, Ywain. I suggest you start there if you don't want to be lonely.

yeah thanks i took your advice and started there and am loving it im a lvl 6 spiritmaster atm.i created a charcter on each of the three realms and /who and found.

So i decided to play as mid with the largest possible communtiy.Honestly i was just happy to know that theres another 2000ppl on a server with me(considering my last mmo was star wars galaxies) but the game has been awesome so far lots of ppl around even in the starting areas.So im really excited to keep playing..def gonna sub once my trial runs out = ).If anyones got a guild going or just wants to do some leveling hit me up my ign is Jeslo.

 Sunday hit 4k and there is always rvr action. I can answer question on midgard since thats all I ever play. In a very rvr heavy guild. I know starting out alone can be lonely and in this game because of the age there are alot of guilds that have played a long time together. Our guild is  big one and has been together since release off and on through the years but is going strong. If you need help in mid and I can answer questions just look for Audioslave in Pantheon im a skald but can help you by answering questions and such

Welcome to DAOC it is very much worth the time and energy if you wanna learn this game.

What could be the best choice if I want to play a ranged class in DAoC? And possible to only specialize in range? I've looked through Hunter, Scout and Ranger but I'm unsure if the hunter could be as powerful as the other classes...

Anyways, tried the game a couple of years back, was interesting but I don't know if I should pay for every possible expansion and I have no idea how I could get the best deal. 14.95$ per month is good enough, but how much should I pay for an expansion?

scout in albion, the shield engage (unless they nerfed it recently) is fucking awesome

i forget the exact spec

but its like 42 shield, its low weapon like 19-20 something give or take a few points and the rest in bow (think bow ends up with 50)

edit : i forgot stealth in that sorry just woke up

35 stealth, 42 shield, 50 bow, 18 weapon

that'll get you 50 composite stealth after a few RR, plus you get camo every once in a while

 

 

hunters are cool, the pets help, but meh , rangers were amazing but they nerfed duel wield and the ra's the hold, so overall i'd go with the scout

 

edit: plus in alb, a minstrel friend means pure awesomeness

Sweet, I'll give this game a shot now when it's holidays       PM me if you're european and going to try the free 14 day trial, it's always more fun to play together.

i'm from the us, i have 3 accounts, and tons of decent rr 50s, a handful of high rr characters, as much as i love daoc and I mean, to the point where i haven't had fun in any other games since, i think that ship has sailed for me, i don't think i can go back to the agony of its sad ruins of a glorious game

i mean, its still good... but not the same, and the players aren't what they used to be either

Ah, I was almost sure you were from Sweden or at least scandinavia - crediting your name. So I was hoping you'd still be playing the game when I was going to jump in totally unaware of everything and get killed by "Giant Squirrel [lvl 1]" now when it's Christmas and all... Well, I feel the same for Age of Conan, except that nothing was really working when I tried it, hmm.. much like when I tried DAoC actually... AoC DAoC... See the similarity just by the name? ouch...

The server merger was the best thing Mythic did with DAOC in a long time. Here's to hoping they have more surprises in store for us.

Thanks, I'll try to get my cousin involved aswell. Going to buy the game today, just the standard and hope for the promised 30 days of free time without the need for entering your creditcard.
