Thinking about pre-ordering Mortal Online

I have the money and I am contemplatin pre-ordering this. I know it is in beta and I know a lot will be missing but I think it would be fun to test it for a few months before it is actually released. The only thing holding me back is I might re-sub to Darkfall. Both games are along the same lines and I figure Darkfall can, easily, hold me over until Mortal Online is released but I still want to play and test MO out. I guess, i anyone is beta testing, I am just asking if MO is worth pre-ordering right now? I mean I'll be able to play it for free all the way up until release + 1 month. Serious, mature, replies only please. Just wondering if I should or not. Thank you.

It's really up to you, i mean your the one who is going to be playing so its for you to decide if you would rather test the game and have your characters wiped and start all over or just wait till release and keep playing darkfall until then. I love beta testing games but for me there isn't enough content in to actually enjoy testing and give proper feedback, so im holding back until open beta to see if ill enjoy it then.

^^this. In testing, you will be able to get a feeling for the world and how your charcter will move around in it. You can explore, craft, tame, build your house and try some PvP. All basic with very little PvE mobs at present. It may come in the next 2 patches, but right now, you just figure out how to work your attributes and skill points. And what crafted items are the best before they balance things in the future. As well as finding where things are in the game world.

The beta is not in great shape right now. If you want to have fun, stick with DF for another month or so. MO will get there, just not now. I will be playing this game in the future. I believe it will be a good game, but it will take the same route of DF. Launch with basics and bugs. Then patch and patch to get the features in and working. It took DF almost a year after release to have a good game with what they thought would be in at launch. MO will be closer to UO when they get if fixed. DF is closer to an FPS online.

you will get disappointed if you expect to get an AAA title....am sure it will be very empty at release...but then they do tell this, so far they havent hidden what state their game have been in

If I just wanted to get a feel of the game and see what it is to become and not be so lost in it when it is finally released then would it be good to pre-order then ? I am sure the game is barren and I am sure it'll be at least another 6 months but I mean when it is released I will still have the +1 month free so it should end up costing the same if I waited until release, right? I'm basically just wanting to try the pre-order to see the type of game it will be, etc...Not worried if there are not many enemies around. Just want to get a feel, ya know...take it slow, get to know it, meet its parents down the road and then make a commitment.

Do not buy the game is you want to play a game! to have fun. Its in beta and that mean you test the game! Alot of the fluff is not in the game. Its still has loads of stuff that needs to be put in. So if you want to play to have fun, move along please. If you want to test a game then buy it.

Well if you don't want to make a commitment i really don't see the point of pre-ordering, i mean you can easily see the state of the game 6 moths later when you actually want to buy it and many of the features that are in right now will be changed or improved so i don't think you can get a good feel of the game right now. I also believe reading that the price would be lower after release.

rule no1 of MMO's (especially Indie ones)

    Never...ever pre-order.

Infact if your willing to wait then the best time to jump onboard is infact a month or so after release as most of the stupid bugs are gone, people have tested the product enough to see if they like it or not and the lower zones won't be bursting with players.

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

Preorder if A+B is fulfilled below ...

    A. you think it is a game for you after seeing videos and read descriptions of it

    B. you either want to play directly in the beta and can stand some bugs and not all is polished and some feats are not in yet or you know you will buy it at release anyway.

Many people enjoy the beta even thou it's not finish yet. The game need more balancing and polish but I have fun in it anyway. I also want to support the development of this kind of game. Because I am tiered of WoW-clones. I tried DF and it was not fun to play. Imo MO is already more fun than DF.

    This!

    and:

Buy it! I did, and I really like it even though it is in beta. If you have the cash and the time, go for it! See you in game!
