Is this game EVER going to launch...

in Star Wars: The Old Republic

Has anyone heard any definite news that this game will launch?  Will it be before then next Star Wars MMORPG is developed?  Is the game going to go the way of the Marvel Universe game?  It just seems like development of this game started a long long time ago.  Has anyone heard of any kind of release date (for whatever those are worth).  Is there an open beta date yet?

    Ok so you sound like a troll,

    To be honest we have just really been given the most information about the game since it was announed in 2008, So its not like it was announced in 2006 and we are still waiting on,

    Its not like its a console game which some developers takes years for it to publish one game gran turismo how long is this game in development for.

    We are talking about an mmo a larger game, So it needs time to be developed and they have alot to work on, we have rumours of 2010 So how about you just go away and use that as a time frame ok. So please stop trolling and grow up please its annoying.

    I'm as anxious as the next person but I NEEEEED them to get it right, not release it to appease thier bottom line profits. Then when its released theres bugs and all kinds of problems. Those of us who are tired of playing boring, old, and uninspired games would rather wait for it to be done right.

    Oh for gods sakes. The game was just announced about 10 months ago. Most games take 5 years to develop. it will launch when it launches, just like every other game on the market. Learn some patience. DO NOT whine until they release it so that it isn't developed properly. The very last thing we need is for them to release it prematurely just because certain children don't have any patience.

    the companion book is released july 27th 2010. 1+1 usually = 2 but only time will tell.

    The game may have been only been announced over 10 months ago but it has been in development for over 3 years, so depending on the outcome of the beta schedule and no re-writes(change of content, professions etc.),  it stands a very good chance of being released next year. (i'm thinking a fall 2010 release, but each to their own).

    We should be happy that the game isn't coming out for a while...

    It means that they are taking the time that is needed to ensure that the game is ready... unlike all of their competitors save Blizzard.

    I want them to take all the time they need. If the game releases in 2012 really polished and fun, I will be much happier than if it released tomorrow with broken features and tons of bugs.

    Work began on TOR in December 2005. It's already been 4 years. The game will most likely launch around April of next year. At least that's my hunch.

    Uhhh, you are aware that MMOs typically have 5 year + development cycles, right?
