OK, I know all Mages are very upset about the HUGE nerf they have had. The good news is the problem has been found.
The magnitude stat on staffs isn't working. In effect your all running around and using rank 0 staffs.
Once the hotfix comes in I am sure we will see this stat fixed and then we can see where magic really stands. With some luck we will also see the fix for cooldowns for NPC Mages too.

Well that would explain why so many magic users are complaining, they've probably never even used melee.

I use melee all the time and use magic as a primary source for range damage. Why? Because I suck at jump spin shoot.
I knew there was an issue, wrong about the cause but right about what the affect was. Glad they are fixing it. Mad props AV
