As both a longtime SL and MMO player who greatly enjoys experiencing both, I must say:
QFT!
Let me muddy the waters a bit more, you say that SL is used for business and education. I remember seeing an article where WoW was being used a lot for business meetings. More people have WoW accounts than SL and it's easier for people log onto WoW. Plus WoW won't get you a sexual harassment suit.

The business that holds meetings in WoW probably won't stay in business long...
And you've obviously never been in Goldshire or Silvermoon city on an RP server.

Second Life is light years ahead of any other MMO in terms of sandbox. It's not even an MMO, it's truly a virtual world where you can create an MMO, a conference hall for real meetings or a hat.

Uhm, there are sexual harrassment issues with WoW, btw. Here is one link:
Originally posted by metalhead980 As for as freedom within a game goes. My vote goes 1.UO, 2. EVE, 3. SWG pre-cu, 4. DF , 5. Ryzom. Sorry those themeparks that you listed don't belong in a "Freedom" thread.
My issues with EVE and SWG were that these games had the nasty habit of limiting my freedom in the areas I really liked and offering me freedom to do the stuff I did not want to do. So it really is a very personal preference. Myself I consider WoW to have more 'freedom' than those games because while WoW might limit my freedom to do certain things, those are are the things I really not want to pursue.
For me freedom is doing something without restrictions placed on me.
Kinda like how in WoW you can't just be a Leatherworker/skinner the game requires you to also level up combat before you could truly master the craft.
Things like that keep me from putting themepark or more linear mmos on the list. Now I will say If wow let you pick crafting classes and maybe fleshed out the weapon skill system a bit I would put it up there even with its lack of meaningful pvp.

The famous GLBT suit with Blizzard.
More importantly, here is a major reason why you might not want your business to have a meeting in WoW:
