Ive wondered myself. As ive recently starting reading up on darkfall a little, certain aspects of it(size of world, skill based advancement with no limit other then what u choose to work on and what not to) etc. Though im a heavily PvE oriented person. That alone has me wondering about tryin darkfall the most. Though it has sounded like its still possible. Granted to make sure i keep my valuables and such stored away safely etc, that and id prefer to run around in 3rd person more(a minor annoyance)
Do hope they put out a free trial for this game though as id DL it to try.(if they have one then im apparently blind on darkfall pages o.o)
Waiting For: FF14,Guild Wars2 RIP: Tabula Rasa&Hellgate:London(online) Playing:Fallen Earth&Guild Wars& Dragon Age
Whats good about DF is that no matter how long you log in for, you're going to increase one skill or another. As another poster said, don't expect to get to the upper tier anytime soon, but you can definitely log in and go mining, harvesting etc. or go and destroy some zombies and gather some loot in that time. You WILL get a skillup in one way or another during that time.
Two hours is plenty. I really only play two hours a day because of my job, but days off I play a lot longer.
Edit - there may be a trial one day, but it will be very limited in the sense that you will have no trades and probably not be able to communicate on channels. Honestly, if goldfarmers ever started playing, itd be a quick end to them because if anyone bought gold, you could just kill them and take anything extra they had on them lol.
I'm looking to play Darkfall casually (2 hours a day). Will this game be fun for me if I can't sink a ton of time into it?
If you want to have "only" enjoyable experience, checking everything that DF offers - sure. After three weeks of training skills in PvE you'll be able to take part in PvP - usually 3vs3 or 5vs5 during capturing of villages.
If you want to win in 1vs1 PvP tournament in DF - forget it if you'll be playing 2 hours a day. It will take you 6 months to catch up to 5% "hardcore elite" playing 6 hours a day. They've begun in February, and maxed their chars around July. Macroing is frowned upon by Aventurine (at least since last 2 days) - so there is no shortcut to catch up with them in every skill and stat.
However it's not WoW where lvl 10 toon can't do anything against lvl 80. It's more like Quake, when you have shotgun and other guy rocket launcher with 200% armor.
From the feedback you guys gave me it sounds like I'm going to give it a try. Thanks for the input.

Welcome and here are some advices.
- tower are your best friends
- bank is your best friend at all :P
- Dont try to fight any body. You will lose.
On the last point, try to kill anyone at low stamina. If you see them rest or fighting many monsters without eating, drinking, jump on them and full loot them.

I very much hope so. In the end, it depends a lot on what are your goals and ambitions.
It will also depend on the kind of guild you join.
