First off I'd like to say that I know like 10 of these threads are made everyday, but damnit I want my own!
I'm still skeptical about this game and what's going to come. But after watching the videos and watching the threads it seems like things have died down a bit. From what I know about balance right now is that Mounted Combat is a little OP if you're fairly decent at it, and don't get me wrong I'm sure there are a ton of you nerdlings thinking "It's not OP, I can kill mounted guys quite easily" I'm sure you can and I'm actually excited because I loved the mounted gameplay of Mount & Blade. I also hear that magic is a overpowered at the moment. I never ever play a Mage in any fantasy game but the FPS aspect of this may make me take on that role.
Lastly I would like to know if there are groups/guilds/clans/teams recruiting any new and upcoming players! I would really love to meet an experienced DF'er to show me the ropes! Game is 90% and about 10 mins away from play! I'll let you know what my characters name is and everything! Thanks.

Hope you have better experiences then I did when I tried it in the first months it was out.
Let me know and I can pull you into a vent server to teach you basics and such. My character is being "restored" so I can't play directly with you until AV is finished.

Welcome to darkfall! I would look into the NEW clan, which is made for noobs like us, I am in it as well as many of the posters here who recently joined the game. They can help answer questions, have a city, you will get to taste some pvp since their city attracts some gankers, so a lot of guild mates team up to get rid of them. You one month in the guild, which is enough time to learn the ropes and skill up a bit, and by then have your eye on a "real" clan to join up with.
It is a really fun game, I personally enjoy it greatly as a casual player but just do not take things to seriously, if you don't then you will have fun, if your someone who can not just chill or is way to into their gaming or nerd rages often...ehhh...you may have issues.
Though I still only been ganked twice and playing a while now, though today while harvesting I had a guy ride up to me...so I waved...a long pause...and he kicked me with his mount and rode off lol. I admit...my blood was pumping but I was only humiliated with a swift kick and not ganked lol.
Stop telling people to join that train wreck, hell anyone can teach better than those guys. I suggest you not join ANY clan for at least a week until you are okay with being possibly killed in towns which you really do need at the start. DO NOT JOIN "NEW".

Yeah, I kind of got the message about new when I watched two guys kill / revive / and kill some guy in town just because he was in "NEW".
Magic is pretty strong but definitively not as Overpowered as it used to be pre-CtS (Conquer The Sea).
As for guilds that teaches new players, NEW is the best choice. Don't mind those who cry about being killed in town. It's usually temporary as we strongly encourage NEW members to come down to Hammerdale (our Clan City) once they are done with a few starter quest and grabbed their Title Quests.
Hammerdale gets raided once or twice a day but let me use a good exemple that happened this Friday. We had a small tournement going on Firday so everyone was in Hammerdale's Dungeon (some sort of cave) when 3-4 PKers from Pandemonium entered Hammerdale with the intention to PK. Well they entered the Cave and when they saw 20 NEW members running their way, shooting arrows and mana missile, well those fuckers ran away tail between their legs.
NEW has over 300 members, offers great help to new players and this help is a lot more appropriate than the help other clans will offer you for the simple reason that you will be in group with players of your "skill level". Easier to group up and fight monsters this way. NEW players are kicked out of the clan after 30 days so they can discover the game by themselves or join clans and raid.

Today happens to be my last day in NEW (NA-1) so I know what I'm talking about.
(P.S NEW is a passive clan that will not Raid, Siege or anything like that. We are supported by at least 80-90% of the clans on the server and they will help us whenever they can)
Aion and FE supplies us with more and more new players.
