i think i rather tend to agree about the interviews guild wars 2 was the same way and its even more interesting to hear it in guild wars when it was in its  point  of nightfall and eye of the north  and i started to notice there they just say what they gotta say to keep us foaming at the mouth. That "vision" trailer was nothing more then eyecandy to keep people at bay it was never really was intended to do anything or then such you can tell from the lack of any enthusiasim from ncsoft on it . one of the developers put together something they knew ppl wanted to see purposly left it  ambiguous  in order to continue  hype on there game .

p.s. totally hypothetical there just a random guess but still the thing i can think of atm

    Leaving after they hit 50?

Most people never see the lvl 50, they leave at around lvl 35-38 (thats from seeing about 80% of my guild/friends/people I know leaving the game) and what is ncsoft doing as an answer? They are now doing double XP week-ends only for lvl 1-35 so that people can leave the game faster

It's sad to see that they don't even understand their own game.

I started playing cca 10 days after launch.

Read few reviews whih were talking of awsome game that has SO much potential. Bored of other games I went out and bought the damn thing.

Excited as I was enjoyed the game all the way up to lvl 30. Mind you I am a PVE player before all else. PVP is nice frosting on cake, but PVE is what keeps me in game. Anyway - leveling to lvl 30 was fun I have to say even though there werent many quests on the way. Also all quests were the same - kill XY of ZG NPC-s. Get lol reward.

Then lvl 30 hit. And thats when it all went to cr*p house for me ...

Quests are hard to find and you need a guide just to find the scatered all over the world. Also by lvl 30 you get sick and tired of the - kill XY stuff - type of quests.

Somewhere arround that time one month was over and sub you got with the game expired. Lots of people never renewed sub. I would even say most of them. As world was more then half empty even on prime time.

Well I was determined to get to level cap ad enjoy end game content !

Sadly as most of my legion mates were higher lvl then me more and more reports came of what is beyond lvl 40. VOID !

Few instances with easy bosses and the catch phrase to kill it all for me and most of PVE players - boss may or may not drop any loot ! THATS GREAT ! Also you can do an instance once every 24 hours. Which is great since it doesnt reset at fixed time ( like WOW ) but has personal 24h timer. So if you started at 18.00, next day you can start no earlier then 18.01.

Not to mention that later on ( after lvl 40 ) quests are so rare that you treasure them like somjething astounding.

Those of the legion that liked PVP QQ-ed if they were ( like me ) PVP class. Because range can kyte you arround and slowly kill you. Or if they are higher lvl, 2 shot you.

    * All in all - for players like me that enjoy PVE aspect more then PVP game is a massive, massive fail. Not enough instances and those that are there ussualy dont give any drops from bosses - at all !

    * Leveling is horrible past lvl 20. I got to lvl 38 by pure will alone. After 34 its was mostly grind, grind, grind oh and some more grind ! How can a game after more they a year on market ( Asian market ) not have quests is beyond me. Also quests that have different flavours and parish the thought some story behind it that reveals a bit of history.

    * End game is some PVP every 2 hours, few instances that still dont have loot drops and one raid instance that no one really tried because most of the people simply quit the game.

For me Aion is great looking game that is empty of content. It must have been extremley hard to put in quests, instances and all together feeling of progression through out the game. Aion is far from WOW killer, in state that it is now I would say it can hardly kill any MMO Vanguard included.

    QFT

I actually played closed beta for this game + open beta + bought the CE. I ended up canceling after the 2nd month (after getting 39). I'll never understand how anyone can get past 42 in this game. I feel really bitter about this game as I pretty much convinced 7 people the game would be really good (which from what I could tell it was good 1-30 beta testing). I also came to Aion with a clan from Lineage 2 of about 80 people. 10 people out of that 80 still play and they had to merge with 6 other clans.

IMO you either love or hate this game, but i'll seriously never understand how anyone can love this game.

I just wish AION would have kept all 5 of them,  they came back bitter and changed.  Quite frankly not the same folks that I knew before they went to AION.

Anyone who enjoys LOTRO will likely not enjoy Aion imo. So I'm not suprised. ;-)
