If i start EQ2 had i never played it, can i compete against level 80's as a level 1?

I dont know anything about the EQ2 crafting, so will i be able to compete against all the level 80 crafters as a level 1?

Can a new EQ2 player jump in as a level 1 and still enjoy the game?

Would i still be able to compete in PvP and what not as a level 1 in EQ2? If not how long of a grind from level 1 to level 80?

Will i be pissing in the wind trying to play EQ2 as a level 1?

Despite all the negative posting about fleeting up with random people, there is an easy and fairly safe way to do it, just join the Help my mission channel.

    www.helpmymission.co.uk/

Boris and the folks there are great people and there's always someone willing to give advice about mission running, and sometimes they'll even come help you if they are near enough. (distance logistics are the big hold back, no one is going to go 12 hops to assist).

But its nice to have a channel of helpful people to converse with and Boris kicks out the asshats so people have to behave.  Recommend you visit them during your trial and you'll probably have a better time.

If you type the first 3 or 4 characters of the system name into channel, highlight them and right click, you'll get the autolink menu. Choose "system".

Some people here discourage training several professions. Personally I think that's terrible advice. Sooner or later time will allow you to be good at anything, so train what you want at the time you wish. It'll be more fun.

I was unfortunate enough to follow some strict advice on training when I began, and ultimately it made Eve boring when missioning was the only profession I was good at. I only began again and had fun when I ignored that advice and started swiching between 3-5 professions.
