They said the release date is being pushed back a month to tune the game. Since there was never a hard release date published, most seem to think that means sometime in January.

Dont think a month is enough, but better then releasing now lol.
Even a month is to soon, it needs major work and a lot more time. 6 months to a year
Given their planning, I think a 2 to 3 month delay would have been better to get their baseline launch features in and somewhat refined for release, but I agree - it's better than them trying to release it within the next 2 weeks.
Of course, they still haven't given a firm date, and it can always still be delayed again.

I really think we should wait for this "huge" patch that is coming out on the 21st. Then we shall see how much the game should be delayed.
Yeah, better check that patch first before judging the game state and giving feedback on delaying the release date once again.
now, if they do this about 8 more times we'll be talking GAME
instead of releasing something just for the cash
Weird, Hercules has not trolled this post yet... jk. I think it is a good idea to delay the launch date.
They really don't have a choice unless they all work for free for the next 6 months to a year. Only other option is to sell the game to another publisher.

I'm sure they have tried that option

They are traded publically?
It needs much more time than 1 month. The game is nowhere near ready... I hope the devs can see that. If it is at all in their power to do so, they need to delay it much more than 1 month.

Yes
My sig is just as logical as your posts are
Is anyone surprised? Honestly? With all the feedback and discussion about the state of the game, and, assuming SV aren't idiots, they really had no other option.
Patch is now on 21st? i thought it was going live tomrw or are they dishing out another big one on monday too?
Upcoming patch
We will be delaying the deploment of the upcoming patch until Monday Dec 21st since we will be including a lot of the most important features of Mortal Online we have to make sure that everything is up to par.
To give you a little hint as to what is waiting for you:
Server and netcode performance will be increased significantly.
Elements such as combat, speed and damage will betweaked and balanced more.
The real skill system will be added into the game.
You will also have a new city, more landmass and a Jungle to explore. We will also patch in the improved AI along with new creatures and all of you crafters our there will be happy to hear that the crafting system along with advanced extration and refining will be implemented.
We will also add a lot more weapon types to build from.
He started a thread a few days ago that was a clear violation of the forum rules. It was deleted within minutes.
He might no longer be with us (at least not using that name).
I'm glad they pushed it back. The patch on Monday should be very interesting.

"Get more money."
Production costs for a full MMO team can easily run over a million dollars a month. Maybe some posters here have a couple extra million laying around and will be willing to help finance the development.
It's easy to tell developers to spend a few million extra here and there if it's not your money that's being risked.
I don't mind if they release it early, as long as they are honest about whats going on and keep the customers in the loop about what they are working on fixing and adding. I honestly think the 30 minutes it would take to type up a staement would go along ways considering one of the biggest complaints I see about any game is lack of communication. Of course the game has to be fun.

I agree actually -- I think if they are open and up front about the game when it's launched, people might be more apt to stick with it as it gets better. But for a lot of folks, the initial bad taste (if there is one) will be enough to ensure they never come back to the game. And really, MMO's are about recurring subscriptions, not about initial subscriptions.
This is unreasonable, obviously they dont have the money to keep the game in development forever., they are a independent company, probably already in enough debt.
I think in two months the game could be in decent shape, however this all depends on the "god" patch were all waiting on.
