(first post on MMORPG) How to deal with Trolls

Trolls, or as I sometimes call them, Trools. You see them everywhere, under bridges, in their parents basement, in sewers...and many other filthy places.
But the toughest, most horrible ones are messageboard trolls. How do you deal with them?
Easy, and this works for me (used this trick a few times now)
Start treating them exactly how you would treat someone under the age of 10 years old. If you imagine these trolls being a little kid, then suddenly they aren't the toughest or most horrible trolls.
Do things like say "Aww you are sooo cute" *pinches cheeks* and other things you would say or do to someone under 10. Or someone under 10 that is misbehaving. A lot of the time the trolls are actually in that age range, or they are older, but developed learning issues. No offense to anyone with learning issues, since my brother has some issues of his own...but even he doesn't stoop so low to be a fat, sweaty, ugly troll.
So, summary...treat a troll like a little kid. Don't give in to his trollishness, and don't whatever you do, don't feed him. This makes him fatter and bigger to take down.

The unfortunate truth however is with MMOs, most players are over the age of 25, thus the trolls are as well.
A bit of advice for you OP. Don't make your first post an advice column. Makes you come off a little pompous.

I wanted to make a useful first post, because I'm pretty smart about these things. I like to spread my knowledge to others. And no one likes trools, so this is good anti-trool advice. All my advice is really good, and future threads will be filled with good information on different things related to the internet and games and gamers specifically.
Its better than making a referral thread, or asking for a MMORPG or countless other first post threads
No one likes the cliche first post "Hey I'm new! Hope to get to know you all"
A lot first posts start that way, I like to be different.
The best way I can think of to deal with trolls is offering to eat their feces repeatedly.

If you feel someone is trolling, why even respond? Why clutter up the forums with even more rubbish? You respond to them, then they respond to you, etc. Suddenly you have two trolls where there was only one before.
Actually the best thing to do is ignore them. It's only a reaction they want.

What I don't understand is why the OP is so openly trolling against the MMORPG forum community in his very first post and in such a pompus manner. Man you got some brass ones!
