Aion and wings...
So all these low level people have been whinning that the wings in Aion are pretty much useless and a gimmick...
Well, overall I guess I have to agree since when I did play, I played an assassin and wings weren't all that great for assassins...
As for wings having any importance in the game besides in the abyss???
Well, at one point when I was level 30s I remember going over to Morheim as a group to do some quests...
Our group ended up PvPing for hours instead of questing...but oh my the good times...good times...
I remember jumping off the cliff and gliding to another cliff you could only get to by gliding...we were trying to avoid the massive asmo groupies coming to annihilate us...
When those asmos were coming after us by gliding, our archer and sorc shot them down from the sky, and the asmos died from fall damage..LOL...priceless...
Well, my point is that you can find some useful things to do with this so called "gimmick" if you know when and how to use it...LOL
BTW, I don't play the game anymore...but good times, good times... Can't really go back to the game after blowing 200mil kinah from crafting weapons...maybe I'll go back when they do that 3.0 update...

Its been said before, it'll be said again - Gliding is AWESOME, Flying kinda sucks. Sometimes flying can be great (in all flying zones like eracus temple where its really useful) but other times it does feel like a gimmick. Flying in the abyss though is great though - balancing fighting and flying really brings something new to PvP - that's definitely not a gimmick
