If you enjoy leveling through grinding out mobs then yes it worth the time cause there isn't any game out their of this quality with that mechanic. The pvp is alright same with the dungeons.

Yes, welcome to Aion, the game where only incompetent n00bs can have fun. ;-)

Every mmo I have played lacks high end content for quite awhile.

Obviously you didn't play vanilla WoW. :-)

The game is 3 months old

No matter how many times fanboys will repeat this lie it will never become truth. Aion was released in SK over a year ago:

Jesus do you ever stop - or just post the same brain dead shit every time?

Yes - only stupid noobs play Aion... your right /end sarcasm

I played Vanilla WoW - you must be talking about their one raid dungeon? That's all the content... imirite? Ya - it had a bunch of shitty 5 man dungeons.... which were completely useless as soon as you hit level cap and started doing anything worthwhile in WoW (namely - Raiding). Im not even getting into this... SporeDot already put you in your place - you just refuse to listen to ANYTHING against your precious WoW... sounds familiar/funny doesn't it? ;)

Lastly... yes - Aion is over a year old... IN THE WEST.... its not the same development team as in Korea. No matter how many times you haters try to make it so, Aion IN THE WEST is NOT the same as Aion here.... get it through your thick skull.....

dont use the graphic you see in video be the goal .most will have a lot lower graphic quality then that .pass midd setting

almost no gear can run smooth for a long time.its a game flaw they ll fix it in the futur but for now you ll have to stick to lower graphic

  • drbaltazardrbaltazar Member UncommonPosts: 7,856

end game ?in this game?there are a lot of item that dont work at time and are only uasable at specific lvl.and some are so far most player dont bother going back to see them .do they open new quest line or new  zone probably

it will take a while since quest listed are only those that have been found

any remember how much time it took to discover end game in vanilla wow.a long while of searching, trial and error

now we take it for granted but back then it was a nightmare didnt know where to get x item ,didnt know where to drop it

    etc etc

and this game upped the odds a notch.you got the air wich can contain quest ,night, day etc and the way the game is made

it look like they can or will probably use season ,and other stuff if it isnt already in the game

since these take a lot of searching ,it will probably be an rp group that will find the end game part.

No WoW released BWL and MC in the first year along with 20 or so instances. Thats more end game than Aion by a lot in a purely pve standpoint. Aion's endgame is doing sieges on the forts in the abyss. It isn't lacking content.

Also Aion in the west is close but not 100 % aion of the east. We get the patches around a month behind what they do. However the current state of the game is on part with the eastern version. Please Stop spouting nonsense. Also Wowfan can you stop seriously. There is a reason why people dislike people who play the game. Your it.

a lot of ppl blamed the user overplaying, overplaying and playing smart are 2 different things.

In WOW me and friend would never play our alts during the week, I was playing a healer and he was a AOE mage. We would get rested by not playing until sunday.

Sunday we would group, go to a crowded area, gather all the mobs AOE and rinse repeat, no quests nothing, just AOE. We would be lvl 72 to 74 in 1.5 hours or so. It took us like 24 played hours (almost all rested) to get them from 1 to70.

On the other hand i had a friend who was online 3-4 hrs everyday for 4-5 days a week, he still wasnt 80, cause he was exploring, doing wrong quests, going to Ogrimmar raids etc.

If you play to powerlevel, u get to max lvl with little time in almost every game.

Anyone remember the guild who lvled all the chars to max lvl 80 the day the lich king expansion came out?  and in the next few days they cleared all the raid content

BWL was much later if I remember correctly - at least.. I felt like I had to do MC for EVER when I was waiting for new content....

WoW end game back then was all about gearing up for MC. You had to have fire resist gear in full or you wouldn't even be allowed to go to the raid. This is back when it was a 40 man raid though Im talking about....

There were surely instances yes... but who REALLY did Scholo, etc once they were high enough level to raid? No one.... WoW does raiding incredibly well... and that's its claim to fame. Their instances - I've honestly tried to not bother with because I found them long, boring and not really much reward. I almost always skipped over the 5 man instances and just quested my way to level cap but of course everyone is different. If you like these - then its great! Just personal opinion is all...

As for Aion - yes Aion is very close - game wise - compared to the West/East.... that's not what I mean. What Im saying is - it has never been catered to this audience. It was built with a different culture in mind. Already, NCSoft West is making corrections/changes to make it more appealing to this side of the world. This doesn't happen over night though... so yes - even though the game ITSELF IS the same - the development team and plans for the western audience are very different. Sorry if I was not clear in my initial post. :)

You clearly didn't play WoW from the beginning, 5 man instances were amazing. People ran scholo/strat/lbrs/ubrs constantly. Not only were these instances a good way to gear up for MC, they also offered really good spots for pvp. Pretty much everytime I went to strat/scholo there would be about 30 mins of battling 5v5 which turned into 20 v 20 and so on. Gearing up for fire resist gear was only for ragnaros the end boss of MC... anyone that did ragnaros for the first time would say that fight/encounter was boarderline legendary. MC when first release was very difficult, especially the last 2 fights (ragnaros and that dude before forget the name were especially difficult). Saying WoW instances/raids are long and boring, and then trying to promote Aion is literally a joke.

The instances in Aion are borderline terrible, the endgame of Aion isn't really finished. They should of released Aion in the west with the level cap of 45 not 50 to be honest. But lets be honest you can't compare Aion to WoW, its a mainstream polished game for the masses vs a niche market game that is polished to a certain degree. Aion does have a lot of polish to it and probably has the best gameplay/combat post WoW fantasy mmo's. Aion is a decent game to some degree, but if anyone is looking for a replacement for WoW because they're bored of it. Aion is not the game for you, you'll just end up being disappointed... the same reason Aion has been deemed biggest disappointment of 2009.

you can't compare Aion pve to WoW pve period. WoW pve was very engaging, there was storyline, the npc's talked etc. Aion pve is extremely boring, i'd rather watch womens basketball than suffer through an Aion instance. I never went to Aion thinking it would have great pve, the deal breaker for me in Aion was the abyss pvp what a terrible disappointment. But some people like it, I just couldn't stand the instant flying it was just to easy to get away from a fight.

All your opinion.... and I never said no one ran 5 man instances... I said they were a waste of time.  Personally no... I didn't enjoy spending 5+ hours in Scholomance.. that isn't my idea of "fun".... but if it is to you - then great.

One thing we can agree with - those leaving WoW for Aion will likely be disappointed. Aion isn't completely easy mode - nor does it rely on instances/questing to get to level cap.... so this - we can certainly agree on....

I played all the betas and filled myself with all the hype. Then it got boring really quick. The game is too linear. No matter how many characters you create, its the same !@# over and over. Zones are restricted by flight and loading screens. Not to mention how small they are. The classes are still unbalanced. And I don't find the PvP all that great. Then they pull out this Aion Visions trailer which is a bunch of crap that is never going to happen. Empty promises. After the first month I just lost all motivation, let my account expire and then re logged back onto WoW. Haven't looked back since. If you enjoy it, then great. To each his own. I'll wait to see what FFXIV and Tera Online holds for us. Plus Cataclysm and those other Sci Fi MMOs. Not that I'm into Sci Fi anyways.

Getting too old for this $&17!

I'm working on my final level 30 toon for the full armor set / weapon for my alts and I'm still having a blast. I may even roll 1-2 elyos toons to get a feel for their zones before I start rifting on a regular basis on asmo side.

Hope you find the "end-game" your looking for bud! Perhaps try enjoying to journey to max level rather then rushing to end-game in your next MMO, you may enjoy yourelf more. Aion is what what 3-4months in now? The majority of the folks with lives arnt even quite ready end-game yet so I can't imagine it being too exciting...
Good luck where ever you end up! :-)

Funny thing is I didn't even play that much, and I enjoyed the journey, I enjoyed Kaiden KQ and Tursin Outpost, fun stuff.

I leveled my Spiritmaster to level 50 in about 2 weeks, I put in for all the lodas amulets I could get, and just blazed through the levels.. spent a lot of time in Lepharist Citadel on double exp weekends, didn't even play hardly at all during the week.

Saved up 100% rested exp energy of repose, for double exp weekend, poped a Lodas amulet and was getting 1.2 mil exp per elite kill at level 36 in Leph Citadel, which was about a bar of exp every 2.5 minutes per elite kill.  And leveling from 1-36 didn't take long at all..not even playing that often, just knowing where to quest, and where to exp (mostly abyss 25-36).

I figured since I already experienced everything on my Cleric to 50, no real reason to do it again.

Appreciate the replies, the journey to 50 was fun, but end game just isn't there, so I'm not going to even try to enjoy it now, maybe when they add a huge content patch, :)

Level 50 in two weeks and you didnt play that much? lol I think your in denial my friend.

Soon as I got my SM to like level 30, double exp weekends started, I only played hard on the 2 weekends, mostly casual during the week, maybe 3-4 hours a day.

50 really isn't hard to get the 2nd time around when you know where everything is, honestly, you can't speak for that because you're still experiencing things the 1st time around most likely.

Also I had 12 Lodas amulets from the get-go.

3-4 hours a day isnt "casual" play buddy....

casual play is you log in 3-4 times a week for MAYBE 2 hours each....
