Anywhoo i tried fallen earth' s trial 2 days ago not knowing what to expect but i gave it a shot , about a 850 mb download and a 4.2 gb update for me anyway. I didnt know if my computer could handle it running a 2.5 dual core with 3 gb ram and a 9800 gt 1 gb card . I nstalled it had no problems loading the game , went to chr creation it had alot of options to choose from added my tattoos , piercings , paint, and beard, chest hair etc ha.. after all was done my guy looked pretty damn good. to ME.
The graphics for the game are great mine were on medium settings. In the tutorial its an instance showing you the ropes, the combat is different. You run around in first person or third person view (your preference) using the middle mouse scroller to move it in or out . The interface is moveable and you can make it larger smaller etc. To engage in fps mode you just hit tab, f9 , or push the middle mouse button. A crosshair pops up and if your using melee and dual weilding each mouse button is for a different hand or weapon. You have 6 weapon slots 2 on each leg , 2 on your back and 2 on your waist .Awesome.
.. After the tutorial wich was also awesome theres an option for an extended tutorial wich i recommend to all newbs like me to the game if you want a horse and not be on foot for a very long time.. When you log in the chat box is set to the help channel just ask away people respond pretty quick helping you out .
Anyway i got outside after leaving the hoover damn and the graphics looked good i did get some lag when i first left outside but it cleared up . Every once in awhile ill get a jitter here or there but it isnt bad. Anyway the qsts from the extended tutorial, guide you around your starting town. There are different towns depending on if your looking to craft, do support, or combat.. Each town will eventualy give you some abilities in that area.or field. I went support and later got some healing skills..
The way it works in this gamefrom what i can tell is you have stats, skills,mutations and tradeskills, you get ap points wich you assign to eaither stats or skills . Skills can only go up so much unless you assign points to the stats that are required for those skills.
It explains it better in the game .This game is great for ME because the no class deal lets me choose if i want to go melee, pistols, or rifles, or i can go all out crafter or a healer or a mix of all and theres alot more than that . Theres no limit thats why im enjoying this game so much . The community seems older because the learning curve to me was harder than EQ2 wich isnt hard but for newcomers i guess it would be The crafting is amazing to me better than any mmo ive ever played its insanely detailed wich i like. 95 percent of all items in the game are player made thats alot .
Im only level 3 and that takes awhile to reach about 4 hours if your new and learning for me it did . .I still have alot to learn in the game, So far fallen earth has alot of detail to it , a great apoc feel , Its Huge the list goes on and on.. Eating dog food was nice lol .There are some minor bugs still not a game killer in my opinion i saw a horse floating once. But im sure they will be worked out .Besides its a new game.. I talked to a gm last night about my code not working for my atv when buying the game he said submit a ticket.
I told him ok then he wrote back right away and said im going to submit it in so we can get that fixed for you asap , It was nice that he actually cared. Everyone in the help chat is awesome they will pm you telling you how to fix or do something if your lost or have a question... The ai could use a little work , i got stuck once in a doorway and had to crawl to get out. I mean theres small things here and there but not a breaker for me and like i said its still new .
Overall i enjoy the freedom this game gives, choosing what i want to do when i want , choosing who i want to be . I found my new home in a non fantasy setting couldnt be better ..

Just a question why is your gamefile that big? 6gb?
Mine is only 1529,00mb.
Overall a messy but fun read thanks for sharing.
I've noticed that the game looks a lot better in person than it does in screen shots. Not sure why though.
It was 850 mb's to download the client etc.. then another 4.2 gb with updates ..for me anyway.
I was going to post something mean with an annoyed undertone when I saw the piece you typed up. But what you posted was pretty accurate, so meh. I'll just stick with thanks for posting and have fun ingame
