I read the description for Earthrise and it mentions this big overseeing government and then decideing weather you live or die and etc...
For me the apeal of Post Apocalypse is kind of like starting over, and with out all the government bull, you know what I'm sayin?
too bad, it may be a good game sure but not really a true PA game like for exemple not saying they're better or worse but like Fallout or Fallen Earth it seems, too bad, oh well.

You maybe thinking too much like fallout series. Rements of government can still exist even in a post apolopyptic world. There are many novels with such a storyline. Try the game out b4 you make rash judgements.

All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care.

You have a pretty narrow minded opinion on what constitutes "true post-apocalyptic". If you'd bothered to read the full description, the corporate government came to power because they created the cloning device during the world wars, and left out those who they believed were the cause of the war. When humanity pretty much destroyed itself, the scientists began producing the clones.
Earthrise takes place several hundred years after the "apocalypse". Post apocalyptic doesn't mean "no government forever and ever" as you seem to think it does.
Also: No government in Fallout?
It's true that ER has some deviations from the cliched idea of "post apocalypse". The CEO of MastHead studios actually once described the game as "post-post-apocalypse". So, if you're looking for a fallout clone, sorry this isn't your game (although MastHead is involved with the Fallout MMO as well). Nonetheless, I think you should take more than superficial look at the game's setting before just dismissing it. I think it's refreshing to see a new twist on a theme, rather than just a slight variation of a setting we see repeated all the time.
Enclave and Brotherhood of Steel are you telling me that these two factions are not a form of government? I actually would relate Enclave to that of the Continoma.
Warning! The "how has a real PA game have to be" police is in!
Love,Hugs&Punches Super Site
Tabula Rasa with its storyline still had some of the governmental controls in place
The military pretty much told you what was what and you either had to follow orders or you were a traitor
but like someone said in another post IF Earthrise is like EVE Online & Tabula Rasa mixed and mashed together I think I might have found an MMO that finally will capture my interests for more than a couple weeks.
That's such a silly and absolutely arbitrary reason to dismiss a game.
Anyways, we'll miss you Farspace, and all 4 of your posts! The world is poorer for the loss of such a gre-- wharglbargl
Ha! I think this guy made the *exact same post/assumptions* in the Fallen Earth section months ago under a different name. Not you, mind you, the OP.

I've read many descriptions about games, seen hundreds of videos, then played the game and they were completely different from what was written or played on videos (don't those CGI videos make the game look awesome?). Yeah right.
So my point being, don't judge a book by it's cover, you may be surprised.
all pa games and settings have governments in them even fallout i mean there is still a president of the united states and almost every town has police or a sherif and alot have a mayor. even in mad max the towns had mayors and laws.
Basically in a every pa setting cities have governments all of them, and just because their isnt police out side of the town to stop bad people from doing bad things doesnt mean their arent laws out there it just means there are the criminals.
Basically pa just means the governments are shattered and forced into a smaller space then they did before, every thing else still applies.
So really it just seems like its just larger then what you have seen in the past, its really just what you would find after a group of people got orginized. That realistically could happen in mere days give the right setting and people.
In my opinion, the game looks awesome.
The fact that the storyline is detailed with a great political plot, this game could really be a great surprise. Im really eager to try this game.
OP reminds me of the anti-gov survivalists that play MMOs all day long from their shed with garbage bags over the windows.

Please, nobody believes in that crap... these kinds of dudes just keep about a dozens fully-automatic rifles on-hand for when the government comes for their DNA... or if the British try to retake the colonies... or if the aliens try to get them pregnant.

Yes look at Fallen Earth trailers, they make it look like it's a game with focus on combat. Then it's 99,99999% about walking around crafting.

No its not! Why do you continue to troll FE forums? All i did in FE was mess with a combat oriented character and had a good time.
To the OP, You have a strange opinion on PA. You should try to open your mind a bit.

Have you found a FE trailer saying anything about Crafting or showing that? I have not. Thats what I'm saying. And FE is a lot about crafting.
Nevermind, I don't want to talk more about that clunky game.

You are living a pipe dream Far.
You can't wipe out all of mankind's evils with a few bombs.
You have to wipe out mankind totally to get rid of all the problems in the world.
So to dream goverment would not exist when humans with a level of intelligence do exist?
Is a pipe dream, it's the human way to exert themselves on others.
When it comes to the strongest shall inherit the earth. It's not always by might of muscle, it is most likely by might of mind and using that mind to control the masses....a goverment of some type is the solution to that problem.
Man, that's a negative view. Government is also the means by which humans cooperate on a large scale. Without it, we would never have been able to coexist and share our knowledge in order to develop our technology to its current level.
Technically it's P.Apocalyptic that evolves into Biopunk (= cloning / nanotechnology) dystopia (= strong state / rebels etc).
