Originaly i was all hyped about darkfall, then i bought it, played at launch, and uninstalled three days later.

My main problems with it was that it requited you to macro up your skills, had a ton of uceless skills and you cant even try out combat because some guy who is a pro at making macros has all ready macroed his skills to 100 and is just camping the newb monsters.

Did they fix any of this?

(thanks for the info)

Yes, skill gain was made alot quicker and it's pretty easy to do quests and grind in peace. Yes you die from guys come to farm alignment or kill noobs for kicks but it doesn't happen often. I don't see any macroing or hacking in the game myself.

Usless skills? There are many spells that suck compared to others, not a big deal.

Macro? As the above poster said, they increases magic skill gain by 6X. Its much faster than launch, you don't need to macro

Camping noob spawns? You are choosing the wrong spawns then, noob spawns are never camped by groups of greifers... thats total bullshit

Doubting that, I have gone through 3 player cities and not seen any clans bloodwalling anymore since I rejoined. AV is taking a stance against AFK gathering as well(which to be honest IMO is dumb). But macroing anymore is not existant as you gain 6x faster doing PvE.

Sorry I have to say that is pure 100% solid gold BS. The quickest way to get stats/skills trained is by fighting mobs, in 3 months I've never seen or heard of anyone bloodwalling as it's pointless now and have never seen or heard from a reliable source (other than QQers that lost in pvp) any evidence of macroing or hacking. I'd like to hear some details of when and where you witnessed this bloodwalling and maybe post a screen shot of it.

I was in the same boat as you, and recently just started playing again. The games improved 10-fold.

    Here is the real deal.

The game is a lot better.

PvP is abundant ( on NA server ).

There are still very broken game mechanics.

    Game is worth playing.

    This guy is smart.

PVP is everywhere on NA server, and I heard from some Eu'ers that EU is pretty populated as well.

At times you wish there werent so many people on, because you go to a city and get chased by 25 people :).

While I do agree that some game mechanics could change, It depends what the devs consider broken, but here are my thoughts on the ones that I think could use change/revamp.

Alignment, either take it out and do something like EVE, or add in some harsh penalties to reds and some real actions needed to go back to blue. Race wars are non existent, which is kinda sad. That said, the PVP is amazing, and the multi racial clans, dont really care about that type of stuff.

The race wars are mostly for unguilded IMO, or newbs training for the big city sieging type stuff.

2 months ago, I would say lack of skill/stat cap will kill this game, I take back my opinion on that. If they add in lots more specializations to players, it will fix the variety, they need to work on economy and crafting caps as well, so people can have special items, that needs a certain specialization to create.

Sieging is kinda lacking due to expansion, but at least every siege  is a EPIC one now. I mean there hasnt been a siege where it was less then 150 involved yet since expansion. Also guilds wont lose their pixels to those 2 am sieges anymore.

Much, much better since the expansion and hot fixes etc. Also, they are working on upgrading armor and character models in the near future. :)

You have a link for this?  I don't disbelieve you but I'd like to read the source.

If you didn't see the beauty of Darkfall then you probably never will.  Darkfall is not for quitters.  Darkfall is not for you.

    This is almost slander.

What I would like to know is, why are you lying like this? What is the benefit to you?

Playing: Darkfall New Dawn (and planning to play Fallout 76)
Favourite games have included: UO, Lineage2, Darkfall, Lotro, Baldur's Gate, SSX, FF7 and yes the original Wizardry on an Apple IIe

That's a bunch of crap.  Lots of people saw the beauty of it and where overwhelmed by some of its major problems at launch.  A lot of those problems have been solved and your left with a good game now

I can tell you right now I wouldn't be playing if they still allowed macroing.  That stuff damn near ruined the game, and in my opinion, the after-effects of it are still the largest problem plaguing the game(creating huge stat/skill gaps between old/new players).
