No, really.. I think it's time for Star Vault to throw out some wandering mobs for the players to fight. We need to run across a monster once in a while traveling across the lands.
At least a few wanderings mobs with loot... is that too much to ask for?
..Or if there are mobs to fight, someone please let me know where they might be found.
And I'm not talking about deer and pigs and stuff.

more than the mobs per se i think more important would be the PvE system as a whole...
There are ratmen, sators and there is a minotaur, but they don't have any loot tables. Go check out the jungle in the south for sators and there is the cave that the minotaur hags in. Ratmen are a bit more difficult to find.
My sig is just as logical as your posts are

Nothing I like more then searching far and wide for content. I hope they pull this together before launch, I'm actually thinking of buying, but so far, I'm not so happy with what I'm hearing.

They haven't populated the world with npcs yet. When they do it won't be like other games where every forrest is heavily populated with bears and every non-road is filled with mobs.

don't take what you hear in this forums for granted, some people here are on a crusade to kill SV for personal reasons and will say and do anything for it. got hang in the official forums and read the beta forums as well.

Funny thing is the beta forums are all full of "OMG this doesn't work" and "I'm crashing constantly" and "Please delay the game!", and "Combat sucks" etc...
You don't need to come here to read about the doom and gloom -- it's on SV's site too. Except the really hot button topics, they just delete entirely. LOL.

Those forums are filled with fanbois so everything is going to seem fine. Some people just want to inform others that before they buy the game, that it is a year of polish away from being worth playing, I haven't seen anyting on these forums that would suggest that MO is a terrible game, all negative posts are justified warnings that the game needs more development.
Rise above hate.
Ignore fan boys.
They are adding the mobs back in this patch. They had to remove them due to them causing client crashes. It seems to have been ironed out somewhat and all the mobs are going back in. They also posted the patch notes for today and there are a few new small mob additions like rabbits which will give a little more much needed sense of life in the world.
Its a good start and they have alot of great plans for mobs. One of a kind epic encounters that will only persist until they are killed, and then they are gone for good. Giving you a real sense of "being a part of a changing the world forever". A feature that most MMO's advertise and never deliver.
So what do me have in the game in terms of mobs:
- gazzele
- wolves and dire wolves ?
- giant birds
- wisents
- little furry things
- domestic pigs
- horses
- minotaurs
- skeletons
Any more ?
It is not an impressive list if you ask me, not saying that last time when I checked mobs have virtually no AI
there are also the razorbacks, the bushpig, the water lizard, the sators and the ratmen.
Much more will come!
AI has been heavily updated those last 2 patches. Just go to the jungle ant check out the sators!

I know you will always hate the game (even you playing it) and you are entitled to your own opinions, but you are mistaken as i have demonst
Well, the game is still in beta but it sounds like you might have a point. You should however post this on MOs forum instead so that the devs actually hear about it, that is the point of a beta, to find bugs and things like this.
It is not to much to ask for even though it is very possible that the wandering monsters just isn't patched in yet since features with higher possibility to mess up is tested first.
I am unsure how they will release this game the next few months however. Hopefully they will wait until everything is in place. A bad launch is something that could plague a game for years, ask Sigil.
The devs actually have quite a few mobs made that aren't in the game for one reason or another. You can't see them anymore because the files are cooked, but if you manage to get a hold of the block A client and use the unreal editor, there are a lot of creature models/textures/sounds you can take a look at. It varies from everything from aardvarks to goblins, to trolls, to spiders, to you name it. I don't think they'll all be put in on the day of release, but I doubt it'd be much later. The devs have said they will have the day/night cycle and weather in by release along with the rest of the continent. If they're adding that much content, I can't see why they wouldn't also throw in some more mobs.
Edit: Rat people! I haven't found them in game, but apparently someone has. They ninja added them without telling anyone. They'll continue to do that I'm sure.
Ive been on the Mortal Online forums for quite some time now and really cant say I see any ninja deletions of threads at all. The mods are NOT that quick there and even when there there is a thread that is locked its usually for a good reason. Coming from ForumFall where every other thread WAS deleted including ALL positive discussions about competing games, the MOFO is quite nice. Yea you cant troll there but other than that any civil discussions good or bad you wish to make you can post. Look at a guy named Inferno3387 there. You will never see a positive comment come from him and hes got something around 1300 posts. Reminds me of you except he hasn't gotten banned.
At any rate, who cares what the forum topics are about? People go to the forums not when they are necessarily happy, they go there to complain. I believe you can open any MMO forum and you will see it filled with "Why I am quitting", "this is not balanced" , "Change X to X", "Game is dying" ect.. Thats just the nature of official forums. People want to vent issues be them large or small and try to get the developers attention in order to produce changes. Not really a new thing.
Before you spread too much misinformation around and get Hercules all riled up with excitement when things dont appear, this was from the last QnA
[12:19] <Katana> is the weather system before or after release if you know?
[12:19] <+HenrikNystrom> weather is after release
[12:21] <+HenrikNystrom> we have a heat system coming, weather will of course effect that
[12:24] <+HenrikNystrom> day/night will come with weather in one patch I believe
[12:24] <Devils> Fantastic news henrik
[12:25] <+HenrikNystrom> weather wont come in this patch

It's tricky because you drop $60+ for beta but your brain thinks its full release? But it's still beta so things are being added in slowly, but you paid $60+ and you feel like you bought the full game.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

That's kind of the problem -- beta is supposed to be the FULL game. It will have bugs and stuff for sure, but the feature set, the entire game, should all be there. That's the definition of BETA.

Im a Software Developer and betas are usually the stage to test a feature complete product but where bugs need to be found and fixed. Starvault probably ran out of money so they decided to start with something which is a hybrid between alpha and beta and where beta testers were required to pre-order the game to get in.
Excerpt from Wikipedia:
A "beta version" is the first version released outside the organization or community that develops the software, for the purpose of evaluation or real-world black/grey-box testing. The process of delivering a beta version to the users is called beta release. Beta level software generally includes all features, but may also include known issues and bugs of a less serious variety.

Don't forget... this is the way Wiki (and 99.99999% of the population) define a "Boxed Copy":
Boxed copy
A boxed copy is a physical version of the final product, printed on a disc that is complete with disc graphic art. This term is used mostly by reviewers to differentiate from other forms of the released product (e.g., a downloaded copy, or a gold master burned on a generic disc). A boxed copy does not necessarily come enclosed in a box; it refers to the disc itself. In other words, an official tangible copy.
At least StarVault seems to be consistent in the way they misuse terms as I never before heard of a company shipping a boxed copy of a "Beta" version of a game.
Only 2 weeks left in January... still no word on open beta, but the last word from the Devs is that they are still planning to release this month...

Look I'm a big fan of MO, I've been in beat since september and I've tested all the patches, but what your saying is BS.
The PvE is lacking in just about every area, the AI is terrible, among the worst I've seen, mobs chase for about 5ft before turning around, the loot being dropped is severly screwed up, in fact the AI and mobs are non-existent since last patch, lets remember were only 2 weeks or so away from the stated release, and 1 week from the supposed open beta. Since september I have heard every single patch that more mobs would be added, the world would be more populated and ai would be upgraded and it has not, on the other hand every patch seems to have been used to tweak thieving, something not even that important.
I dont think the OP is asking to have his hand held by SV, I think what he's asking for is reasonable, if you think or want sv to release the game in its current state, with the world populated the way it is then you only want MO to fail.
I'm very worried about MO and its PvE right now, tons and tons of crafting bugs still exist, PvE is non-existent, more things break with every patch.

Been in beta since july and i'm telling the truth. Everyone knows they took out the AI a little while ago and every day since, they have added and removed it because of a bug. They added it earlier today too, I know because I was killing wisents and getting chased by wolves.
The AI is not terrible, problem is most of the mobs we have come across is wildlife. They have added more mobs in the different patches. They actually ninja add mobs but due to bugs they end up taking them out to fix things, not like its a game in testing or anything...
They keep fixing thieving because it has bugs. You don;t thing it's important but it is a feature and if they have it in game then it needs to be fixed just like everything else. The crafting system is the newest major addition to the game so of course it's buggy and even still it's not tons and tons. Crafting works they just need to adjust yield and tweak the UI.
Pve is a problem right now because of the issues with the upgraded AI, Every time they implement it they find a bug and end up removing it so we can still test other things without the server messing up. From what I have seen, the mobs in game act different than they used to but still need to be worked on.
You should keep in mind that there won't be any themepark-quest-grinds or dungeon farming pve in the game.
My sig is just as logical as your posts are

You got to be kidding me, the ai "is not that terrible"? but its pretty terrible your admitting?
Look I like MO, I've had a blast with the pvp in fact its the best i've ever seen, the crafting seems fun if they can get the bugs worked out, but the PvE is terrible in every aspect. I'm no tlooking for a "themepark" type mmo, obviously or I woulden't be playing MO, but that is NO EXCUSE for the crappy AI, I've played indies with better AI then MO currently has. And the world is void of spawns, even when AI is in, yea you can find your share of weasels, pigs and wolves, but everything else is far between.
And I know its in testing, but with a slated release in 2 weeks and seemingly EVERY patch introduces more bugs then it fixes I'm starting to think things are not looking too good for MO. I wouldent be so critical if things were not literally down to the wire, but if they actually are going to release in a few weeks then this is going to be a disaster, espcially with the 10 million other bugs currently in game.
I haven't even gotten into the broken skill books, broken skill book timers (its taken me 3 days to learn a book with 6 hour timer, and the skill vanished. The fact that crafting has many more bugs then simply "tweaking" as you said.
Look if we were 3 months or so from release it wouldent be a big deal to me, but 2 weeks out...ouch.

No that is not what I am saying. The AI needs some work, but it is far from terrible.

Don't mention how alot of that empty space is where you build houses at. I also aknowledge that the need to add more variety of mobs but just because you have to go looking for them doesn't make it non-existant.
And I know its in testing, but with a slated release in 2 weeks and seemingly EVERY patch introduces more bugs then it fixes I'm starting to think things are not looking too good for MO. Every patch does not introduce more bugs than it fixes. Yes there are bugs and they need to be fixed, and every major patch they fix them and they fix bugs between patches, they just don't make a post for every lil hotfix.
I haven't even gotten into the broken skill books, broken skill book timers (its taken me 3 days to learn a book with 6 hour timer, and the skill vanished. The fact that crafting has many more bugs then simply "tweaking" as you said.
The skillbooks are not broken, they work as intended and skills don't disapear, you still have the skills these are just ui errors that will be fixed.
