What were the 3 things you picked from the list regarding the question as to what are the aspects of the game you are mostly interested in?
My picks were Combat, Graphics and Character Development/Progression.
As you remember, only 3 picks were allowed, others were tempting as well though

same as yours
i think i picked: world/lore, combat and graphics
I forgot what the options even were...
I know I put World and Combat, but the last I think was either Community or Crafting.
You know what? That must be the area i did not get when i did the beta form.I know they said they would base the decisions on answers, but i never got anything to fill out other than my name/email and i don't think anything else.
Sounds like a screw up there somewhere.I may have to go back and try again but i doubt it will let me unless i register a new name and email.
To be honest,i find nothing at all in those poll choices to pick beta testers,so it tells me they are up to something else.I think they are going to try and release this game earlier than it should and are going to poll what aspect of the game the majority would want finished.
Community=guild aspects
Combat =well no brainer unique combat structure/renkai as an example.
Graphics=they may need more time to have top notch textures/shaderslighting .well the whole shebam that goes into graphics.
Personally i think this sort of poll could cause them a lot of problems down the road.People often say one thing ,but in reality they want several or it all.For myself i would not sacrifice any part of game play to make one area great,i want it all to be great.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
@Wizardry: I did have some trouble myself getting to fill the actual beta application. In phase one you are required to create a Square Enix account and then you are redirected to the actual application.
There were a lot of questions there, but I didn't find them boring or somehow unrelated to the subject. I'd say give it another go, would be a shame to miss on the beta (if you're looking forward to get a first glimpse on the actual game) because of some silly form that didn't load properly, considering they said they are hoping to have a beta period longer than that of FFXI, which was 3 to 4 months, according to Hiromichi Tanaka.
So best of luck with your applications, everyone!

i think what you have done is register your square/enix account. now you have to go in and fill the form in.
i chose combat and graphics. i really want to play beta but from what i have been reading, it seems they will be looking for people that can devote a great deal of time (30+ hours ish?) and forward in-depth reports... is this true?
for those that are successful, i hope to see lots of videos on youtube - the wait for this game is too long!
Here it is, for those who wish to refresh their memory:

EVERYONE who picked PvP needs to be excluded from beta because if you even cared anything about ffxiv you would know theres no pvp.
I picked:
chr development, player interaction, crafting.
Waiting for:EQ-Next, ArcheAge (not so much anymore)
Now Playing: N/A
Worst MMO: FFXIV
Favorite MMO: FFXI
Combat, character development, and last was lore/world I think.

How do you figure? I picked PvP, Large-scale events and player interaction (I may have picked world/lore though, I forget exactly). I think it's interesting that large scale events was one of the options, seperate from large-scale PvE battles. That makes me excited because that may indicate dynamic, GM run content.
There's going to be some form of PvP in FFXIV. Square knows that many players desire direct competition with a living opponent. They'd be foolish not to include PvP.
Why would they put that option in there at all if there wasn't going to be PvP? If anything, it's an indication that there will definitely be PvP!
the logic behind questionairs is to find out what players want most, if the majority of applicants pick a certain category then im quite sure they will focus on adhering to it. im quite sure they will add it to some degree eventually. if they was completely against the idea of pvp, i doubt they would have added it as an option.
I think I chose Storyline or Combat, Lore/World and Character Development
I picked lore/world, character development, and player interaction. FFXI had an awesome world full of secrecy and riddles and hidden things all over the place. I look forward to a really deep world to adventure in, developing my character, and interacting with other FF players.
sorry this is an off topic question but when i try to make my square enix account i cant type @ at the retype your email bracket :S
Get Google Chrome.
Same as this person. Sorry, took the easy way since we think alike.
I forgot. I think one was to not have a main or supporting character NOT resemble Cloud or Tidus. No but seriously I think one was combat. The other I'm sure was PvP. But they should have made one for environment. If the world is very "limited" in travel, then I'm going to get bored really fast.
Getting too old for this $&17!
combat, PvP, large-scale events
I wasn't even sure if FFXIV would have PvP but I thought I'd be honest anyway...
Awww hell. I'm gonna give it a go anyways. Haven't played a FF game in a whiles.

Well i picked Lore, Player Interaction and Quests.
Having never played any FF games i was shocked to get an invite on the same day EA drop the SWTOR gun,lol i could not believe it. I have the client downloaded and i have a toon made but the server is still not up.
My only worry is the controls, from what i hear they are more akin to PS3 controller but someone is saying that it's more set up for both keyboard and PS3 controller in FFXIV.
I only applied for beta because my friend kept going on about the game and how it will give me that old EQ1 feel. I have been playing VG but alas i am about to say goodbye so it's come at a great time.
Hope this works images.amazon.com/images/P/B00006SKJ4.01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg

Next would have been PVP but sadly they said pick 3.
If PvP is of more importance to you than PvE, I suggest finding something more suited to your needs instead.
No, PVP wasn't higher on the list because often more than not it is implemented poorly. I mean look at WoW for example. I mean while your questing having someone that is at the level cap kill you and then camp your body due to the fact they have nothing better to do wasn't fun. Sit there as a ghost and watch them teabag your body is about the best you can do until they leave.
