It sounds awful familiar to what the other guy posted. Maybe beta really has started. There was no reason for him to post about FFXIV in the sw forum so now I am kind of a believer.
Edit The day EA announced tor release as spring 2011 was the same day the beta post on these forums appeared.

never underestimate the trolls. for one thing, he provides ZERO proof, not a damn thing to show us what he says is real, and until he does, noone will belive him. Also aren't characters saved on the server, so it wouldnt be possible to log in and make a character? im not 100% on that but im pretty sure you cant do that.

I live life differently then you guys. I believe what he says, no reason not to. Even if he is lying at the end of it all it doesn't really matter to me.
If you recall in ffxi you made a character, then you were assigned a server, or if you started later you could choose your server after you made your character. So It sounds like ffxiv is doing the same thing, so the character creator is not part of the server.
As for me I am a beliver now. There was no reason to post it in the SW forum. In a way I am pissed but in another I am excited. Pissed because I didnt get an invite but excited that the ball has started to roll on CB.

if he is so insistant, and he probly already broke the NDA, why doesnt he show some proof? He basiclly made that post to say "haha i got in, and not you!" so if he was serious, he would of given proof.

So we have 2 people who claim to have gotten into the beta, downloaded the client and created their character yet have no f'ing clue on how to take and upload a screen shot? Huh.
Well, the way this guy started off saying "lol, your wrong" counts against him. But the other day when the dude posted he wasn't rude or childish at all. SE is huge and you'd think that more people would start posting since they seemed to be stuck on character creation anyway.
Unless they started up the servers really quickly and people sat down and forgot about RL.
Oh please; not again. Its just one or two people screwing with us fans because our beta and MMO are being released this year, while they have to sit there with their thumbs in their ass with nothing to do. Also our MMO has an actual world you can clearly see in the screenshots to explore and will be more an MMO than SW:TOR will ever hope to be.
They're just upset and angry cause our MMO is essentially much better and is getting a lot of praise, while theirs is still a mystery with all signs pointing to a 1P Online game you have to pay for!

No he was right when he said "lol your wrong" there was a quote in his post (that i didnt copy and paste) where a dude was saying that EA was not refering to SWTOR being released in 2011 when in fact they really were.
He had absolutly no reason what so ever to mention ffxiv beta in that post other than to say he had something to do to pass the time until SW came out, so thats why I believe him no one else in that forum gives a crap about ffxiv. He had no reason to even try to prove it either. He wasnt trying to convince anyone he was in beta.
If you guys want to be in denial about it, you have every right to I am not telling you how to think but I am atleast happy that the CB has started that means we all will get to play sonner rather than later.
Edit: khrymson I agree with you SW is going to be far from an MMO. Its sounds like more or an online rpg to me, but none the less people are still excited about it. What SW is or isnt had nothing to do with his response.

Can't wait for this game, FFXI was the only MMO I actually could of played for hours on end without getting bored. Cannot wait for FFXIV.

Lol, on the day i get accepted for FFXIV beta on the PC. Man, that's not a bad thing even though i can only download the client and create a character at the moment.
If it come from EA you have to take it as 90% legit. Don't be surprised if BioWare make some announcement pretty soon.
Now, SE start this beta i am ready to roll..
Anyone else get into FFXIV beta? I just been told about the controls, i think i will have problem with the controls though,apparently it's more tuned for a Logitech PS3 controller,have to wait and see i guess.
First time playing the FF mmorpg series,it's more akin to EQ1 type game-play i hear.
Going to try it with this though.

Yeah, i have been testing this game since mid December,it's only European testers at the moment and the servers are only up now an again,perhaps 2-3 times a week.
Also i have the client for FFXIV but i am just waiting for the dev to switch the server on,that beta acceptance came just two days ago ,lol on the very day the EA new broke.
Fanboys and rampant bioware fans forgot that their was life away from SWTOR.
APB.. many people are under the impression that it's 100 people per ever when in fact it's up to 100.000 on a single server and up to 100v100. When you are playing through the city you can see other players on their own mission that you can't join,they can have up 100.
Anyway APB will be a great mmorpg and a lot of fun,good to see a European mmorpg coming to the fore.

I have to agree, he has no reason to lie especially on another forum where know one cares about FFXIV. Judging by some of the hostility in this thread,i would not want to come here and prove anything.
Some people really can't help to show the "green eyed monster" side of themselves. We have people saying the same thing on separate forums. They say that they have the client and have made a character but can't log in,why wouldn't they just say that they are in and testing.
He was not trying to be smart it was just said after the fact.
He didn't even come to the FFXIV forum here,he said it in the swtor forums,it adds up IMO.
Anyone who has played the first one knows about the controls,he didn't,that to me makes it even more real.

I dont think we were trying to, I wasnt anyways. sorry if it came off like that, I was just backing up my opinion as to why i thought it was legit. If I was jumping down your throat it would be un-mistakable because I dont pull any punches.

They just need to get this beta under way so we know more about this game & can get it ready for launch
There are going to be multiple tiers of closed beta over the next few months. If you don't get into the first one then you might get into the second or the third and so on. And there will probably be an open beta anyway before all is said and done (although did FFXI have an open beta? ... I don't recall ever seeing anything like that)... in the mean time ... Call of Duty!

Not in the US, it had already been well tested and played for several years in Japan, they just had to basically make sure it was all translated to English well.

I really do hope they started the beta so we can look forward to a launch this year as early as possible. I'm sure they won't launch before it's ready so if they're starting the beta already they should be really far along and basically almost finished with the game. Hopefully they release some more info soon.
