Free To Play vs. Pay To Play

I decided to post this thread because I'm tired of hearing people complain about spending a few dollars in an item mall.

First off, Free to play absolutely wins when compared to a subscription fee based game. Take WoW for example, you pay $15 a month to simply.... play. What happens when you don't pay up? Well the big man takes away ALL your rights and privileges to that game that you just bought for 40 dollars at Wal-Mart, plus an extra 30 dollars for some extra content. Now you gotta fork over more money for what.... play time. Or you could pay about 50 dollars (over time) which is the most i've ever spent in a YEARS worth of playing a free to play MMO and receive something you get to keep for as long as you want (no expiration date).

Oh whats that? You're getting a little tired of playing the same game over and over again. You need to take a break because you have a life and can't spend every waking moment trying to get your moneys worth out of that subscription fee your paying? Well go ahead! Take a break for a good month and enjoy the secure feeling of knowing that when you finally wanna pick that F2P game up again you'll actually be able to log back in without getting a 15 dollar ass rape by the "big man".

Yes it's true that most P2P games are more expensive in the long run than F2P games. How? Say you've played WoW for a full year, well as explained in the 1st paragraph you've spent 70 dollars just to start playing ($40 for the battle chest and $30 for the newest expansion) plus about 180 dollars in a years worth of subscription fee's ($15 a month). Well by the end of the year you've now spent a total of 250 dollars. Keep in mind that simply being able to log in for that full year has cost you 180 dollars! Well I can assure you that no item mall will gank a whopping $180 out of you by the end of a years worth of playing yet alone $250, assuming your not dropping stacks like you're Bill Gates of course. Sometimes the feeling of knowing that i can step away from a game for a good month then come back and find that i can still log in, well.... is just a damn good feeling.
