Anybody get EQ2 today?

i know todays the release day, but i was wondering if anybodys local game store planned on having it for sale today?

I called my local EB but they said it wouldnt be in until tomorrow. I was wondering if i should bother try calling any other places, or if all of them wont have it until tomorrow...

btw they said Halo2 will be in at midnite tonite, so i guess EB is having some special Halo2 event. Damn, in the next week or two i'll have purchased EQ2, Halo2, and i think WoW and Halflif2 if they come out soon. Way too many games coming out soon that i want to play, why do they time it like this

I feel your pain

I'm also anxious to play the games you've mentioned, along with the Guild Wars Beta weekends and Saga of Ryzom, which looks like it's going to get really good.

I haven't called my EBGames yet, but I thought spoke with the manager last week and he said they may have EQ2 on Nov. 8th. It's probably coming in with the shipment of Halo2 . . . ordinarily I would be excited for Halo 2, but Everquest II and WoW have overshadowed it and Half-Life 2. I'll play them all eventually . . .

Check the EQ2 forum seems quite a few people got their copy.

Even in europe which is suppose to ship on friday folks in sweden have their copy.

For me in UK i can only hope to get it by friday might even end up getting it next week.

hmmm so nobody can play it until tomorrow? or i guess midnite tonite is when EQ2 will allow you to register?

i didnt know that if thats true. Maybe i wont go out of my way to buy it today

If you bought it online, pre-orders shipped today.

From the EQ2 website: Copies will be shipped to retailers Monday November 8th, and are supposed to be on shelves Tuesday November 9th.

Im not sure how people would already have their copies, as even the preorders don't SHIP until today.

The reason is, because they don't want people who go out and sneak a copy tonight or early next morning to have a headstart. Most retailers in the US will get their orders by 2pm today, but even if you convince some sales rep at a store to sell you a copy today, it won't do you any good till tommorow, except for maybe getting the 10 minute installation out of the way.

Actually I received inside word that servers went live at 12:00pm noon today (PST).

EDIT: Although I must say that the caveat to that information was "for SOE employees..." Not sure how they would keep others out unless they have separate key hashes for SOE employees that are the only ones valid right now.
