Returned to AO

I played some AO today and it was really fun getting back in to this MMO after about 4 years of not playing.

 

Sure, the graphics and game mechanics aren't up to snuff of what a modern MMO presents to the player, however it was great just to play again.

 

One thing that keeps me coming back to AO is the fact that the MMO is a completely different experience from any other type of MMO out there today.  

 

I was surprised to see quite a few players around, but not as much as I figured I would see.  I probably saw about 6 or 7 in the subway, and about 10-15 in Rome.

 

My question is: How many players are in SL these days?  Are there enough mid levels to get an easy group?

Most leveling chars with expansions are in SL.  Bulk are either doing garden quests are power leveling on tiggs or hecks or such.

Well, all the old places where there used to be activity are mostly dead now.  Borealis is always bustling with activity, and around the shops at Rome as well.  I came back not too long ago too, leveled an advy to 150, i didnt have any problems finding groups.  It seems like grouping now is sectioned off to a few places though: 1-24 Subs, 24-60 Temple of Three Winds (ToTW), 60-80ish Shadowlands Mortiggs, or Foremans if you're froob, then i did Shadowlands Hecklers from 90-150.  I stopped at 150 but i was doing Sector 10 at that point.  Outside of those places you really dont see much leveling going on really.  I would recommend searching some message boards here or other AO fansites and get into an active guild, that will really help if you're not on a paid account, past Foremans i have no clue where people level in the old world.  But yea, i didnt have a problem going from 1-150 group wise, i will warn that there are a few odd levels where its tougher to find a group, i had a tough time getting from 90-107ish, i wasnt getting good xp from the low level Heckers/Mortiggs anymore, but i was too low to really get into many high level Heckler groups, but around 105 or so it picks right back up and you'll make large gains from Hecklers.
