Instead, the butchering of the dragon corpse will reward a player with parts of the dragon such as the hyde for better armor or maybe bones or whatever.

I know you have been posting many videos and even hosting live feeds for fans.  I appreciate that you really like the game even though I personally have an issue with the company.

Would it be possible for you to make a video of what you just described.. or even if you can't kill the giant dragon can you setup a time we can come and watch the live feed of you entering her lair?   Im not saying what you typed is false, but I have never seen any videos or even screens of people fighting this giant dragon.

As far as I know it's just a blurb from their PowerPoint presentation.  I know it sounds great, but I believe it's just another example of something they threw onto paper but doesn't exist in game.

if you can show me a video of a group hunting/slaying and skinning a giant dragon I'll have to say the game has advanced more then I expected it to...

You know as well as I do that the intended mobs for this game have not yet been implemented into the game, and that showing such a video is impossible. I am merely giving an example to the person who said there was nothing to do in the game of how rewards will work even in a huge PvE victory.

You know full well what my intent was in the example you have quoted, don't take it out of context and twist it as if trying to imply I was telling people that huge dragons were already in the game. I have never said anything of that sort. ;-)

Actually the person made a statement that he spent many hours in the game looking for something to do but couldn't find anything.  To which you responded with an example of a dragon.  I'm glad that the devs have a plan on how rewards 'will" work in a large PvE victory, but I think the fact that such a victory or even such an encounter isn't even possible in game (2 weeks from release) re-enforces the posters point...

It will be VERY interesting to watch the public reaction to the "Stress-Test" this week. People will finally be able to see the reality of the game and decide for themselves.

and then after all the patching problems with the 4 day downloads of their updates i just quit tryin to test all together. and now im extremely let down by see'ing this video.  it looks exactly the same as when i was testing except now there are a bunch of really bugged out deer....
    WHY GOD WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll admit that the game is in a pretty bad state right now.

However, give it six months of post-release development, and I imagine it'll be much better.

I preordered and haven't played much in beta at all due to the various problems. I'm hanging out in Istaria until such time as MO is ready to enjoy.

Well buddy, it is a niche game that is certainly not intended for mass appeal (as with a game like WoW or LoTRO)

    - Even if the game was complete and virtually bug-free (which I think we can both agree it is FAR from that) - Well there would still be MANY people who would not like this type of game at all.

I would expect the public opinion to continue to be mostly negative when they do see it and decide for themselves. However, on a good note, at least they won't have paid money if they get to play some and perhaps won't feel nearly as "scammed" or "ripped off" as many probably already have felt.

It's not a game for the masses, not even close. And considering the incomplete state of the game, it's likely only going to appeal to a much smaller number until it is further along in development. For it's sake, I just really hope it gets the time and money that it needs.

LOL! That would be pretty random... but quite funny. And I bet very few people would actually get it :-p

I love the comment on that video just posted today that blames what is witnessed in the video on his computer being "out of sync" with the server and that's all.

Maybe there is some truth in that, however it is still obviously a problem if ANY player sees what is witnessed in the video linked to in the OP of this thread.

LOL. I like Mortal Online, but I'm not going to make excuses such as that for it, heh.

We are realistic, that is why we release the game. It's funny how some people seem to forget that we are living in a world where money matters and you need to be able to pay your employees. I guess every MMO developer would like more time on their hands before releasing their game, but there always comes a time when you have to start making money - to survive at all, but also to hopefully be able to hire more people so that you can develop the game even more efficiently.

this statement is sad but true. The reality is that it could be devastating to the dev team. I hope they are able to make MO into a successful game but if the launch is an epic fail will they be able to stay afloat. how will reviews hurt sales? can they work out alot of the gamebreaking bugs before the free month is over?

Yeah, it's a really big shame. The team working on this probably won't be around in another year unless some really big things happen for them, and with a forced release like this it isn't looking good.

If only they made another quick buck clone like the rest of these companies ran by suits! /s
