If i want to play a PvP game then it wont be a MMO.

    God yes, this.

PvP in MMOs is just crappy... would much rather play PvE and just FPS when I fancy it.

    Agreed.

Ill be interested in the COD MMO if it ever comes to fruition. For me the problem with MMOrpg, pvp is the lack of the "rock paper scissor" approach that FPS'ers offers.

Waiting for:EQ-Next, ArcheAge (not so much anymore)
    Now Playing: N/A
    Worst MMO: FFXIV
    Favorite MMO: FFXI

I'd have to choose FFXIV, Square Enix usually comes out with amazing storylines. TERA seems like a nice game but if its just going towards having nice looking armor and weapons etc as do most so called "korean grinders" graphically comparing screenshots with FFXIV, it doesnt look as realistic as FFXIV. They tend to deliver extremely well with the games they produce. I've really had enough of the "korean grinders" been playing a lot of F2P mmo's to kill the time.

proud to be called such :)

I love PvE games. I also just prefer PvP games where my skill counts when i get a kill over games where my gear and class level does.

    Each to their own though.

    You're supposed to nerd rage.

Also I will agree with the gear thing, to a certain degree. In WoW gear is everything. If you don't have it, you can kiss your ass goodbye. It should matter to the degree that plate armor will keep you alive better than leather or cloth etc; but it should also hinder things like movement speed to make up for being strong. As for class and level, I'd have to say that level should matter. I don't think a novice should be able to kill a master. Class should also matter. If you're a caster and a rogue finds you with your back turned, you should be fodder. But, I also don't like games with classes and levels. I prefer sandbox games such as (old-school) Ultima Online, Darkfall, Eve Online etc. In games like these the above mentioned seem to not be so important.

    lol sorry about that.

yeah, I liked DF for a while.. but i played it at launch and saw personally too much exploits, hacks, and macroing for me to be convinced it would ever be an enjoyable game for me. I have heard that its a lot better now though. If I was gonna play any PvP mmorpg it would be that. I have no bad feeling towards that game.

I don't say that PvP MMOs are bad for others, only that for me they are crappy. It isnt one style vs the other after all, theres room in this genre for both PvE and PvP. It's just down to what your looking for... I have tried a lot of PvP games (started in EQ in '99 on Vallon) looking for that same rush a decent FPS gives me but in a persistant world, but I have seen them fail (according to what I want) again and again due to bad design and (sadly) a lot of  'hardcore' PvPers who cheat their way to as much advantage as possible (which is ironic).

I like co-op based PvE, so my money is on FF :)

Yeah,  my money is on FF14 too. I played FF11 for 7 years or so starting with the Japanese import. It's the only PvE game I ever got into (probably because of the story, missions, and teamwork required in battles. Skillchains, magic bursting etc.) I hope FF14 keeps some of that intact.

Tera? You know, the game that had some promotional art with a succubus-styled chick front and center, and looked like she just finished something in some random back alley...

Tera is also the game that's introuble with a lawsuit for stealing stuff from Lineage3. Not sure what exactly, you can probably google it.

Tera wont go far, since they're being sued for stealing Lineage 3 code.

    FFXIV all the way!

Surely, not all of you are interested in both. But what about those who are?
What would your pick be and why? :)

    ...Is there a choice..? :D

I'd pick both. I've always played 2 games at a time (I do have too much time at hand...). I think the FF-series is one of the best RP/PvE games out there. TERA will be an other great MMO, featuring both PvE and PvP.

...I just hope my system will be able to run both of them at decent settings...
