A better use of the Star Trek IP....

If it were up to me (yeah yeah i know it isn't but still) I would have designed the game using the premise of "Star Trek Voyager".

Players are brought to the ass end of the Delta quadrent and find themselves in a bit of a quandry. Primary mission is to find your way back to federation space, secondary is exploration, first contact, study and whatnot.

Expanding on the voyager theme, the caretaker array went nuts, dragging in unsuspecting ships looking for a replacement.

Streamlining the voyager path home, the developers could have set up a number of places to interact with, resupply, explore.

To me, the whole alpha quadrent star trek theme has just been driven into the ground.

Awww... ya had to go from just accidentally posting "If" to something that actually makes sense... ruining my fun outright.

The era's don't matter too much to me.  I hope they open up more diplomatic and exploration content so that the era becomes at least vaguely relevent, soon.

So your premise is half the starfleet of the Federation, Klingon, and whatever other player race gets zapped into the Delta Quadrant?

Voyager's premise was a lone Fed starship trying to get home.   Make a good SP game, but not much MMO potential.

On the other hand, not much MMO potential in this game, as is.

well outerspace star trek stuff doesn't translate that well to mmo at all in all honesty.  But considering the delta quadrent theme, it would make sense seeing conflict between enemys (think federation and romulan or cardasian). Competition for valuable resources, quicker routes, etc etc....
