New player needs a bit of Direction

I'm new to the game and decided to create a Human Paladin.
I mostly play Solo and with a very limited play schedule.
Just need a few links to class build websites and if it will be viable later on if i decide to play more and actually group with people.
Also any suggestion as to what adventure packs I should buy at the start? I don't mind sinking some cash into the game since I enjoy the combat a whole bunch.

Try the official DDO forums, lots of information on classes and advice on adventure packs.
also check the compendium on the ddo website, prestige classes become available at lvl 6 so pick which one you want to aim for and go from there
Nice I found a Nice Paladin Faq for new players.
Now I have a tech issue.
I swear It's like all Turbine games hate me.
I've been playing DDO fine for the last day or so and now that the game is fully downloaded I crash when i try to load into the world from character select screen.
I tried everything, Updated my video card, sound and DirectX drivers and its the same.
I have an old system but it easily meet the requirements to play DDO on Medium settings.
I don't understand it. I may have to give up and go back to GW.

Does it only crash the first time you try to launch the game? I know there's a bug where a lot of folks have to launch the game twice. Has something to do with Aero in Vista/Windows 7 I think.
Also it sounds like you are using the Turbine Download Manager since you mentioned "fully downloaded". The TDM is buggy as hell and I think most people avoid it like the plague. Your best bet is to download the full game client and stay far, far away from the TDM.

Yeah I used the TDM and it was working great while it was downloading the game in the background but once it finished I havent been able to log in.
I crash every time, It's frustrating the hell out of me.
OK, Im going to grab the full client and see hwo that goes. ill update soon
Update: YES!!!!!!!!! It worked! Now I'm off to remake this paladin. Later people and thanks for the help

There is many good builds, for all kinds of playstyles... Solo, support, super DPS.
Unless you have found any good build sites yet, please check that one out, the index gave me some ideas for my build!
On the 3rd there will be Public Notices which are stands that you can walk up to and they suggest things in your level range to do. Hope that helps some.
