Games I played in the past: Ultima Online, Project Entropia, Conquer Online, World of Warcraft. I highly enjoyed all these titles. UO because of the freedom, immersion; and I liked P.E. for its strong presence of the community, at least my experience - everyone knew about the most famous players there etc., a lot of gossip, I enjoyed that - I was in a guild that was both very intensive y'know like very connected yet still nobody required you to be online all the time...
So basically what I'm looking for is a game that has very nice character progression/customization, preferably (but not necessarily) a fantasy theme, nice community, and is good as a relief of hours of study, so something a bit more casual, so let's say 2 hours daily play MAX, maybe more, but not more than 4. I enjoy both PvE and PvP; both grinding and dungeons. Character looks is important, must be able to look good.
Graphics shouldn't be too high, my box is NOT top notch (a laptop actually; has a Radeon card shouldn't be that bad, but still... Crysis won't play well. WoW will play no problem, which isn't saying much I reckon). Oh and... any stupid little things like housing or gambling in game you know like in UO would be a great bonus. Is there anything like this out there. Diversity is awesome.
P.S.: Also, I hate if the character animation look "stiff". I love the motion in WoW, everything looks so polished and consistent. I tend to dislike the high graphic Korean MMO that will have "stiff" animations. Animation is paramount, I don't care too much about texture detail or number of polygons.
P.P.S.: F2P or P2P doesn't matter. Trial would be nice.

Just a hint. Don't look to Mortal or Darkfall for a great PvE experience. Mortal is shaping up to have a better PvE experience than DFO, but neither are all that great. Housing in both games needs a lot of work. I think DFO currently only has city-building, no personal housing, but that could have changed.
A game to look into in the future could be Dawntide (I recommend it to all UO vets).
A game for now could be Vanguard, or if you want something more casual, Lord of the Rings Online. Neither have a huge community, but both have a welcoming one.
Check out the MUD I'm making!
Thanks! - I thought about looking into DFO, but I don't know... Looks too hyperactive and nervous from the videos. I'd like something more relaxed. Not carebear, but relaxed, as in, more thought and less adrenaline. EVE Would be great but I can't get my stupid head to let go of the idea of having a humanoid avatar.
Thank you for pointing to Dawntide. Never heard of it!...Reading about it now.
