Allods would have been good but the russian influence in the game is so great that it makes me want to punch commies in the face. Knights with winter hats ftl.

As for the based on rage of mages and crap. No. It's not based of anything. Borrowing Ideas isn't basing something on something.

You do realize this game is based off of a game called Rage of Mages which started production in 1990 and that the actual Warcraft was based on that  game and Warhammer right? therefore WoW is a clone of Allods technically speaking...

Was wondering when someone would bring up that this is basically Rage of Mages online (which was actually called Allods in Russia.)

First, the developers are the same ones that made Rage of Mages (again... as mentioned: Allods in Russian.) So, yeah Allods Online would be based on Rage of Mages initially with elements of other games and whatnot. All developers borrow.

Secondly, I rather enjoyed the Russian flavored steampunk-ish look of the Imperial faction as opposed to the gay fluttering Elves on the League side. I hate the ridiculously egotistical hippy elves in most fantasy (not the players mind you) and I enjoyed the pvp in this where I got to punch them whiny egalitarian elves in the face.

I would just like to point out, that it's a direct sequel to Rage of Mages I-II and Evil Islands. Also, Elves in this game are hedonistic bastards, focused on themselves and their perverted version of "beauty".

I hate WoW because it made my plush hamster kill himself, created twin clones of Hitler, punched Superboy Prime in reality, stared my dog down, spoiled my grandmother, assimilated me into the Borg, then made me into a real boy, just to make me a woman again.
