Is there a hacking problem on AoC?

I'm a former player and back in the day that I played, there was no hacking. I see now that many youtube videos are postings about people hacking and their programs. Is there a problem? Me and my fiancee were looking into getting back into it, but not too sure if it would be worth it.

Second question, unrelated... Have they improved the looks of the armor choices in the last year? Instead of the same old rags, even at level 80?

Dont know about the hacking but I havent read any complaints about it on any forums.

As for armor have a look at yellow gremlin for armor looks

Here is a list of the best PVPrs and their current armor, in my oppinion it looks really cool

I hear about people getting their accounts hacked in many games all the time, but I think if you have even the slightest idea about how to use a computer and a web browser it's not going to happen to you.

They prey on (for want of a better word) stupid people, yes, it's that simple.

Check the dates on the hacing videos... I think they are old. For what I can see there is less goldsellers in AoC compared to other game(s) I have played. That would indicate less attention from the hackers for profit people.

While leveling I cannot remember ever running into a bot. Thats for something.

Programs altering game for ppl to exploit is prob not a big problem. Since AoC has good amount of pvp its likely ppl would cry and whine about it in the forums if it was a problem(still loads of whining but mostly just the regular whiney nature of (bad)pvpplayers.).

None that I am aware of of either exploiting the game or getting personal info.

(AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...... waiting for the expansion to come online!)

All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care.

No hacking issues.. Botting is a bit out of control though.

Hmm that one is the first, never saw bot in AoC.

As for hacking most of those apps are keyloggers

Lol. Only things that are actually expensive enough to bot in this game are cities and EXTREMELY rare world epics which were removed way back and a piece will cost you 300 gold.

Maybe more bots will come when TL makes it to live because the gold is needed in next patch to buy PVE/Pvp epics.

Okay, so I have witnessed a few things in game within the past week that have kinda caught my attention...not sure if it's hacking or some kind of bug, but it seems like hacking maybe...

I recently rolled another char, I wanted to try an Assassin, so anyway, I'm in Tortage, go to White Sands Isle to get into some PvP action, and there is this lv 20 Conq. running around ganking lowbies...

...so, my Assassin is also lv 20, and I decide to creep up on this ganking Conq...Well...I get knocked in like two hits...

When I check the Conqs info, it says he's lv 25, but next to his name above his head it read a very misleading lv 20...

Is that a hack that he used...maybe to mask his true level so lower level players would try to fight him and get creamed?

Seen the same thing with a Necro today that said he was lv 18 next to his name, but when I checked his info he was like at lv 24...
