I've seen a lot of people say SWG pre-pub9 was the greatest game ever invented, do i think their wrong? Not from their point of view. Even though there was zero content, a lot of skills were broken and the major things to do were character building, PVP , explore or craft. I've still yet to find a game that was as fun as it was then in SWG.

I for one am excited there's a game taking these fundamentals and focusing on them as the main game. There's a lot of potential in that idea. I've yet to play it, and I will wait until OB or launch to make up my mind on it. I still am excited there's possibility for a game like this to exist in this day and age.

I was excited too, until I played it.

And SWG pre Pub9 was done by the same guy who did UO -- Raph Koster. No wonder we share similar experiences about how fun the games were.

Play the open beta and you'll see the same thing, unless you have in your mind that you WANT it to be the next best thing, which is something no reality can change :)

    "Pretty simple answer.

    1. MO doesn't have a tard screaming " Feature complete!!! "

    2. NDA has already been dropped for a while. I don't think DF dropped theirs until 1 or 2 weeks before release.

    3. DF did not offer a p2p beta........... well before the " release " so 90% of its fanboys could not get a taste of its...... current state.

    "

100% this.  I would also add the controversy of how long DF was in development and the features they were boasting without proof at the time.

*EDIT* And please stop saying that MO isn't nor ever will be as popular as DF.  It's a truley ignorant statement imo.

    Let s be honest guys.

Personally I love MO concept and was looking forward to it, but I have a long experience in MMORPGs and Betas and when I saw the leaked videos of DF I thought it was already in a good state and bought the Beta access.

This time around for MO I had a look at all the videos reagrding MO on Youtube and quite frankly I can say the game is in an Alpha state, hence not worth even attemptimg to give it a try.

The guys at SV need to find investors and urgently

Tasos didn't put his own money in it (part of it), he looked for investors and finished the game (almost) before offering the Beta access.

They didn't ask any money before the game was fully playable *(although still open to many exploits)

Starvault might be good developers but they are shit businessman,, the founder of  the company need to understand that he cannot run a company with the money of his father.

He need to move his ass and go around finding investors, so they can finish their game.

    There is no other alternative.

They won't find 13K people a month willing to pay for this mish mash of pixels.

How about contacting Funcom, your neighbours?

I don't like Funcom personally, but they could act as publishers and help out with the hosting and networking of the game as well as lending some money to their fellow Swedes, MO is not in competition with any of their games, so it would make sense as well.

Eheh ok, I thought they were all Swedes.............well they are all vickings aren't they?

Still they are neighbours and I believe that Funcom is missing an hardcore MMORPG in its portfolio.........who knows if MO turns out good, they might get more subs than AoC...............not that is particularly difficult feature to achieve
