Have any of you been able to get into the game for the supposedly 12 hour Stress Test #3 today?
I got in, after running patcher in Win2003 compatibility mode, and restarting it few times after some patching errors.
Unfortunately "NowGame.exe" was crashing every 15 mins, without any meaningful error messages. I wonder if it has something to do with overloading servers during stress test ?
na did you patch the old client or the new one that came with the torrent?

I'm going to assume you refer to costs for server hardware alone and aren't including costs of payroll, office space, day-to-day operations, etc. etc? If not... well... honestly mo looks like its not read for release i really cant see them launching in its state as any invester would be a royal retarded gerbil to demand such stupidity from SV... so im sure they pushed the release back for more then a month... atleast the videos i have seen (mind you alot can happen in a week...)

Have you ever run a big enterprise system that needs lots of bandwith, 24/7 monitoring, proper SLAs incase hardware fails, etc? $1000 a month? Give me a break.

$1000 a month isn't even enough money to pay 1 part-time employee...forget server and bandwdth, rent and utilities and billing and legal and accounting... taxes...interest/principal on loans....
The SV estimate of needing 13,000 subs would be around $200k per month which seems reasonable to stay afloat. I'm hoping that guy made a typo as he's not even in the ballpark.

That does not even include what Starvault has to pay its developers.
so after deleting your previously installed client you have to download another 4.9 GB Client, install that one instead and hopefully it will work. I´m done.
Nice work, folks, you really understand how to waste money on shipping totally useless crap.
Just my 2 cents,

It's a lack of planning, and a lack of management. It's also something I mentioned to them 4 or 5 months ago. They don't need to take my advice even then, but it just goes to show that I got it right all the way back then. I still think I'll be right about launch too.

Did I post something like that? I do not remember.

Would think Windows 7 would be the same.
This is priceless....
....the DVDs they shipped out... cannot be updated via the patcher. I don't even know what else to say...
seems so. I got the box today too. Just one DVD inside, nothing else - not one written word.
And the best is: the DVD is completely useless. If you install the client and run it you get an error which is discussed here: http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/3...tml#post680288
which leads to: http://www.mortalonline.com/forums/3...-19-guide.html
