Im here watching Starwas 4,5,6 again just got the upgraded Dvds and it dawns on me.
When Vader gets thwarted by a rebel evade like the deathstar plans hidden in the escape pod. He says "see to it personally, there will be no one to stop us this time!"
Freeze Frame!
This is the problem. there is no accountability like in the movies...you screw up, report to vader for throat reconstruction.
In mmos people join evil under the same rules as those who join good. This is a major problem. If you join good they give you chances...you join evil fail 1 time reroll. How come this has never been implemented?
I guess the developers dont know how to make money. Oh yea that's true, look at all the wasteful spending and decisions.
You may hate or love me but bottom line I know what it takes to keep people interested in a game. I have over 15 yrs of experience and legendary status.
You could have stick figure graphics and win if you honor this...
Join Evil, fail get killed re-roll
Join Good, fail get killed, loose stats
--------------------
This tames all and should be the model for the future.
Comments
yeaa while this idea seems to look and sound real good on paper...
in reality i don't want to re-roll just cuz i make a mistake lawll
and its seems entirely unnessesary
Now why would there be a game-play mechanics imbalance of playing one faction over the other?
In reality, there is no such thing as good and evil, but them being categories to define one style over the other, one story-line over the other, one faction over the other.
I'm all for balanced mechanics of risk/reward and loss/gain, but to think that because one 'player' wears while and one wears black, and by virtue of that distinction the black garbed player has a harsher penalty for the same actions that a white garbed player performs against the opposing faction is quite silly to me; aside from it'll never fly.
This..is simply bullshit.

Look at D2 hardcore mode....fail and reroll. See how well people liked that? Only like 10%. Was it fun and kept people playing? Nope.
I don't see anything stopping you from voluntarily deleting your character in just about any game made.
Go for it.

I'm still waiting on someone to say that if you die, you should be permabanned from the server.

Uhh, which part sounds good? I don't even understand wtf the OP is saying. What are you saying OP? That you think the Imperials should have automatic perma death if they fail a quest? At any rate I'm hoping that this was a joke and that you technically got me since I responded.

Thanks for pointing that out. I missed that.
I gotta say...are you only just over 15 yrs old? 15 years of experience in what? Obviously, your statement is confounded. If people hate you, they obviously wouldn't stay interested in the game idea you're trying to sell to them.

So...penalize the players who choose evil? I must not be too legendary, unlike you, because I seriously fail to see any reason this could be a good idea.

Everyone on this site:
1: MMORPGs are DOOMED, and I have the answers to save them!
2: THIS game's gonna kill WoW!
3: I wish things would go back to the Golden Age of MMORPGs, which only existed in my mind...
Playing: EVE, Final Fantasy 13, Uncharted 2, Need for Speed: Shift
I don't see anything stopping you from voluntarily deleting your character in just about any game made.

Actually that's a great idea for all those who want this type of mechanic to experiment with. Create a guild in any MMO and enforce the rule that if you die you must delete and create a new character. I'd be interested to see how many members the guild actually ends up with.
You can always add in "house rules" to any game, I think folks forget that. How many folks play Monopoly with different rules for Free Parking?
I don't want to sound rude, but all the threads you've posted lately are all BS.
EDIT: Talking to OP not you john,

It was just a subtle hint that you've all been trolled. Its funny how everyone on this site is quick to shout troll when someone has a real grievance with a game but fails to recognize a real troll .
Better do as he says, guys - he has legendary status.
Can't argue with that.
Give me liberty or give me lasers
Star Wars MMOs are INSPIRED in the SW movies/books. Anyone who wants the real stuff, go watch the movies or read the books.
1 - I don't consider the books the "real stuff".
2 - this is a bogus argument. If a company can't/won't be faithful to the IP, they have no business taking it on. Maybe you are fine with the IP bait and switch being done by these companies, but I am not. Not only is it underhanded, but it results in garbage games.

Not far enough. No resurrection spells in Star Wars.
Dead is dead.
"" Voice acting isn't an RPG element....it's just a production value." - grumpymel2
Except for the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of other soldiers in the Empire that have never even seen Vader let alone got their throats reconstructed by him for messing up.
Not to mention the hundreds of Storm Troopers that couldn't hit the Death Star if Luke was standing in front of it. They never get any kind of punishment.
Your logic is flawed.
Some "Legendary status".

LOL.
I can argue with anyone. I'd argue with God Almighty if he/she/it posted here.
"" Voice acting isn't an RPG element....it's just a production value." - grumpymel2
Any discussion over the content of this guys post is irrelevant as its clearly nonsense. The only thing I want to know is what "legendary status" means and what he has 15 years experience in. Maybe he will enlighten us lesser mortals?
LOL
To be fair the Death Star is all they would hit if Luke (or any major character) was standing in front of it.
That mechanic should be in any Star Wars game. I'm not counting TOR, as it is set in a different time period.

That's true... I didn't think of it that way.... my original point still stands though. ;D
"There is as yet insufficient data for a meaningful answer."
This is a very weak argument
