Lost in Space.

So today me and a couple of friends were out exploring. I found two anomalies for them to go kill rats in, and while they dod, I went off and scanned for signatures. First I found was a wormhole and since I was feeling a bit devil-may-care, and was flying a crappy Heron, I went in. I scanned inside unknown space, found some sites, warped to them. Forgot to bookmark the wormhole on that side, so when I told my mates, laughter ensued.

At that point, I started panicking when someone opened a conversation with me. He said 'Hi'. I thought 'cool, Im getting out of here'. Then he said 'can you help me get out? Ive been here for two days.' More panic. More laughter from insensitive friends. Tried to scan for the exit wormhole but was ambushed by sleepers. With my ship destroyed and sitting in a tiny pod my odds of avoiding self destruction were growing thin.

But not all was lost. One of my friends who was outside said 'hey I brought probes with me'. So he scanned the wormhole on his side in high-sec space, warped in and got me and that other lost traveller out.

After alot of 'thank yous' and 'you're welcomes', the lost traveller left and I found a nifty sum of ISK in my wallet. Without asking for any reward, our generosity had been rewarded. The friend who scanned the wormhole for us to get out got a new Harbinger and the rest is safely stored for future endeavours.

I have to say, after about one month of play time, this was the best and most epic EVE day ever. =D

If you stand VERY still, and close your eyes, after a minute you can actually FEEL the universe revolving around PvP.

If push came to shove if you didnt get rescued you'd have to Self destruct your ship and pod to get back to regular space. Wormhole space is fun isnt it.

All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care.

That sounds like a fun time. I didnt realize the game had that type of situations.

The team that designed the wormhole space stuff built it with exactly this scenario in mind, btw.

I think it's genious. It's a one way trip into unexplored territory, and it definitely feels like it. Especially the part with collapsing wormholes leaving you stranded.

Haha crazy story. Yeah usually when we go pvping in wormholes (or rather thru them) I'm always paranoid and spam BMs on them. That way if we have retreat in a hurry I can get out fast :)

    Good story.

This is also a perfect counterpoint to the common misconception that eve is only full of gankers and griefers.  The game only seems that way to those that are foolish, careless, or just plain bad at diplomacy : )

With all of its problems eve is still far and away the best MMO out there.... nothing even comes close.

Of course, when I pick up my copy of Mass Effect 2 in an hour, there may be a bit less New Eden in my diet for a few days : )
