You can do missions, you can explore/discover, go out and scavage/harvest, hook up with ingame friends and do what ever, you can even log off, geuss what ..........crafting continue's while doing these things, so how's crafting a bit to much then really playing the game?

You do know you don't have to stand still while you craft....right?

No he's absolutely right.  Quests and loot drops do not garner anything worth while.  The AH is ridiculously over priced.  Pretty much in order to get anything half way decent one is really pushed hard into crafting which includes harvesting all the nodes (which takes time) and up'ing your skills to craft the better equipment which guess what? Yep, takes time.  All of which he could be spending doing something else he enjoys.

So you do know you don't have to be a condescending tool...right?

Well perhaps I understand the game allittle better, I know 90% of the items are crafted, which is why I play Fallen Earth and yeah thankfully loot drops garner many things very worthwhile, I don't use the Auction much but very very occasionally as everthing can be found ingame, then we have lots and lots of refuse bags scattered all over the lands which for those not wanting to craft might hold intresting  "loot", there are also plenty of missions that do give you worthwhile items ranging from weapons/armor/recipy's that are somewhat more unique'r then some basic craft.

In a way sure he is right it takes time, Fallen Earth is not a game to rush and think you get that phat loot as most common MMO provide you with, but then know the game, understand what it is about, simply put play the game that is given and do not try to make the game something else, as you already have plenty of options in game that work that way you want, now let us enjoy Fallen Earth the way it is.

Which basically means that Fallen Earth is not the game for you guys, because for a lot of us, the crafting is one of the main plus points. It's all about preference, not right or wrong, correct or incorrect. So now move on and find a game you do enjoy because the importance of crafting is not going to change in Fallen Earth... if anything it is going to become more crucial and involved with the item decay and overcharge features coming soon.

Ah, yeah perhaps you're right friend.  Which is unfortunate as I do enjoy many of the aspects of the game and I don't mind crafting at all but when it almost becomes a necessity then that just might be too much for me.

In this day and age there are so many MMOGs out there that you really don't need to waste your time with one that doesn't fit your idea of what you want out of your game. I've also learned one thing for sure, that no matter how much you want it to, no game is going to change what it is to suit you, especially if they are on the road to do the exact opposite of what you want already. This has borne out to be true with every MMOG I've ever played or tested since UO... In the case of Fallen Earth and crafting it is highly improbable that you will ever be able to equip yourself with better equipment than you can craft... be it via missions or mob drops.

The population in Fallen Earth is booming as it always has been; it's a single-shard server.  I've never seen it dead, even more isolated regions.

Personally, it is my current favorite MMO.  With the graphical updates, improvements to the physics engine, etc., etc., I find it a more enjoyable and more compelling experience than any game out there.

They should improve the game to pull people into pvp. Maybe they should look at how pvp is arranged in Dark Ages of Camelot (best pvp-game imo).

Saying that people who enjoy the game don't understand MMO's is quite patronizing.  Many of my guildmates have reached level 45 and they are still quite enjoying the game.

Perhaps you just heard this on a forum and are parroting it, since I do not believe you have actually made it to level 45 and "gotten bored" with the game.  If you have and I am wrong, my sincere apologies, but the game is quite a lot of fun from level 1 to level 45.  Much of the level 45 activity right now centers around PvP and guild events.

Most MMO forum readers are at least vaguely familiar with the Bartle archetypes of players.

Most new MMOs today cater primarily to Achievers. (loot and number-chasing focused games like WoW, LoTRO, AION etc). A few cater primarily to killers. (Darkfall, Mortal Online etc.). Socializers are more dependant on the community  than the game mechanics, but there are games like Perfect World that focus exclusively on them.

Fallen Earth is different from the norm in this regard. The huge game map and heavy focus on scavenging and crafting makes it ideal for Explorers. People who don't enjoy this kind of gameplay might of course get bored quickly, and including more content for them wouldn't hurt the game. The focus as it is now does create a niche for players that don't have many other options on the market, though, and will probably help create a loyal following if they retain that focus in future updates.

Well, I'm checking out the free trial- going for a Craftsman/Trader/ Rifleman build. So far loving it. I'm probably not going to give up wow as I want to see the end game content and raid, but this is definately a nice depature

Just curious if the mobs warp around at the speed of ligjht?

This is what killed it for me the first time. Overall I liked the general look and feel, but the warping was ludicrous.

Not sure how long it's been since you've played, but I have noticed zero warping of mobs in the last two plus months I've played.

Admittedly it's been a while, likely since launch.

Might be time to give it a 2nd chance.

I did enjoy fallen earth but just way too much crafting like i said ealier the missions are fun and pvp is fun also. i mean its cool i did build a motocycle which was bad-ass. item decay would be nice and i also know logging out i still craft but still. plus looking for nodes which i understand part of the game. i do agree crafting is a huge part of fallen earth but add some stuff for people it just wanna enjoy the game instead of crafting all the time.

We will have to wait just short of two more months before we can say how the game is, 6 months after launch.

It only launched just over four months ago.
