You actually called the moderator incompetent? Way to go, man! -.-

If a moderator gave a second warning for the same offense then either he is incompetence or their system is garbage that cant keep track on who got warning for what offense.

While that may well be true, common sense means that one doesn't annoy those who carry huge ban hammers...

i dont see why we pay thier paychecks and if they are showing stupidity it should be in our power to call them on it

    First LOL

Second its true, you do anything to point out someone flawed statements and you get smacked if you dont do it in a professional and courteous manner. I have been smacked by many a moderator, to which i would reply with a list of the rules they say i broke and i would list the reasons i didnt, then i would go on to point out the fact that the other person is breaking the rules by badmouthing a game withouth giving any factual info just  " This game suck!" without giving reasons, that way the remove the smack and are required to smack X person rather than me for trolling. If you fight for your right to critisize u can win, it just takes patience and effort. So when a Mod does something stupid  point out where they are wrong in a nice way and show them how the other person is breaking the rules not you.

That has to be the worst paragraph I have ever seen. I guess these forums need to add spell checker for the 9 year old responses. Way to fail Demz2 "Troll".

Dude really come on. I have terrible grammer and i sometimes type so fast that 2 letters get mixed up too. Why are u going to insult someone for a spelling mistake.

something everyone should know when it comes to moderated forums

rule 1 if your told to chill do that if an moderator told you so doesnt matter if someone is stupid report them. Dont act  like a self appointed moderator sits ill with everyone.

rule 2 you dont talk back to a moderator. if you think a moderator misbehave or something report ,dont get personal with him, so of course he gave a second warning i would do the same and its not abusing moderator powers at all.

Simple rules abide by them and you will live long and prosper.

Have to agree here, my weekend was post free because of a "mistake" that got corrected with an apology. Either a fan with some pull or the long arm of Cryptic seemed to want to test there reach.

Well what do you expect?  They have to take all that pent up nerd rage out on someone; so, why not go after someone who's putting their die hard fans in place?

OP I'm not calling you a liar at all but I'm also not just going to take your word for it that you said absolutely nothing other than that someone was acting "foolish".  Which honestly can in fact be looked at as a statement to garner a warning (as in wouldn't you expect to get a warning for having called that person a fool?) then why expect that saying he's acting foolish might garner any less than that.

I'm not certain but often times when I'm warned I'm sent a easy to copy and paste transcript of what I said which again is why I'm not just jumping up to defend you against the evil mmo practices, you give us nothing but your side of the story as vanilla as can be when we should all know that nothing is ever that simple.  I would gauge that as an answer simply from what I see in the STO chat it's rarely as simple as someone saying something fanboyish and someone with a one word response like "stop acting foolish" again you would probably be the first one to leave it at that.

I also wonder where was this conversation going before you declared another to act foolish, something had to be being said to lead up to that yet we hear nothing about it from you so I'm going to continue my skepticsm on the one hand and on the other I'm going to wonder why a simple warning from a company horrible at CS is worthy of a post anyway.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

So, you admit you have no intention of buying, but you felt the need to insult the moderators.

Why?    If everything went perfect for you in this situation, what would happen?

You are just stirring up shit for your own amusement, no other reason.     And as such, you deserve a ban.

Yes.. I'm going to call the moderator incompetent for being exactly that..  I wouldn't tolerate a cop for giving me two speeding tickets for the same event.. so why should I give the moderator a free excuse?  There is no excuse for Cryptic staff (insourced or not) for this.. :)

Fine, but why bother?   What will you gain from this?   Personal satisfaction?   A cure for boredom?    My point is you have no intention of playing so just walk away?    You've nothing to gain by staying and nothing to lose by leaving.

The one thing you learn pretty quick on this site is to pay no attention to the forums. I was mailed some warning bullshit for putting up my concerns about the game as well.

This is a heavily moderated, biased site that is never to be trusted. Caveat Emptor people.

I'd say wait 2-3 weeks after launch before diving in with the fanboys.  Every game has them no matter what, even the garbage games like WoW, SWG, AoC, Eve (flaming responses in 3...2...1).  But no matter what it seems to be the norm people will defend their game regardless and if you were calling a fan boy foolish on a Cryptic moded forum for a Cryptic game then it's really no surprise they did this.  I think if you did the same on another game's board about said game it would happen there as well.  Doesn't matter if you're right or wrong.  The mods are there to moderate on their terms so dissing their game or their player will probably net you said warnings....that's why most of the flame wars are here at the un-biased mmorpg.com forums :)  They don't care so long as it doesn't get out of hand (using profanity or going for straight racial slurs, etc.)
