LF: Best Game Evar
Kindred spirits, wise community of MMORPG dot com, I have a humble request to address unto your immense knowledge and beg for counsel regarding the so called Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games, which I believe is your primary field of expertise.
I'm looking for a specific characteristic, namely, for a game that could be justifiably labelled as the "Best Evar".
F2P or P2P isn't relevant (15$ a month is nothing anyway), and if its focus is on PvP or PVE, if it's RvR or a bellum omnium contra omnes. It doesn't matter whether it has level or skills or classes or classless or if it's for the causal gamer or only the hard-core. If it's FPS or RPG, fantasy or futuristic, grind or easy to level, none of these matter. This is enough: that it would be the Best Game Evar.
You see, all these are a matter of indifference to me. I am not like other ungrateful on this forum requesting nine thousand detailed specifics, game with an epic flail, dual-wielding goblin paladins, right for in-game same-sex marriage, interior player-housing decoration in accordance with the architectural philosophy of Feng Shui. No. I'm merely asking for one, single quality: that the game should be the Best Game Evar.
Can you help on this quest, to find the game for me, the only game that could satisfy me? I'm not asking for much. I'm only asking for the Best Game Evar.

Unfortunately, there is no "Best Game Evar". Because that means something different to every single person. But I can say that there is probably something out there that "you" personally will like above anything else. All you have to do is go out and see what you like best.
And that will be your "Best Evar" game.

For me it was SWG pre-cu (can't wait to play it again!) followed closely by UO.

Different people like different stuff, and even that changes when those people change their opinions. So everyone has their own personal best games.
There are of course aspects of a game that can be judged in general, but most if the time if something about a game is good or bad is simply a matter of taste. The more narrow a genre is the better you can judge it though.
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)

Not First Game Evar , however interesting that is, and curious - that the first MMORPG (1995) is still up and running. That's First Game Evar.
We are, however, looking to find the Best Game Evar. That's different.
The difference is that the First Game Evar is first, whereas the Best Game Evar is the best. Evar.
The public consensus says WoW is the best game ever, as described by the fact that 11 mil people actively play it.

Actually, I beg to differ sir, as of the other day Avatar is the number one movie of all time.

are you suggesting they're re-releasing SWG the way it was back when it first came out?? I would play that game til the end of time.... that was by far the best mmo experience i've had - and i've played 'em all.
