Keep in mind that this is still work in progress and the humans are the first models that are being worked on with all races getting a revamp.
For now she still has one of her old haircuts but new hair options and other additional features will be introduced with the updates too.
One of the improvements is a slightly higher polygon count while still keeping the performance of the game in mind. Additionally, the proportions have been slightly changed.
On top of having new and additional armors as mentioned in a previous spotlight, the nude states of all characters have been improved.
And yes, the improvements, of course, will also include animations.
I like it a lot. They are doing a lot of little polish things in patches leading up to this DF 2010 revamp of what sounds like char models, armor models, UI, etc. I think DF 2010 could be a turning point where the game sees some solid growth. Hopefully it comes soon and is tested well.
Very nice! I can't wait to get home and see the new stuff from the patch.

The model looks decent but is a cheap static effort. There should be some form of animation there, even if only hair movement,i can tell that the hair will be George Jetson glue on.That leather outfit is also easy to do,because it has no animation, really this is a simple effort any student could do easily in one day.A top notch modeler could make that in a few hours.
If you are going to add models now in the year 2010+,you really should put in the effort to look professional. What ever team is making their new models,SHOULD have decent skills working for a paid developer,i would expect to see something that looks professional ,anyone at home can make a static model.

Anyone at home can make a static model without keeping in mind the game's ability to support a thousand player battles at playable frame rates (as it says in the quotes the dev team provides)
Thank you for the fine information you provided us Wizardry, mind = blown........

I'm just curious if you have played? The hair is not static. When my character jumps the hair moves. Also :

I could understand if the game was old that it would make sense to give it a graphics upgrade. This game is still fairly new, why didn't they do the graphics right in the first place?

Gameplay>graphics
That is the core. The graphics are currently already nice turned up but are now getting nicer. It's good to have a good core base for solid gameplay to start with and build upon that premise.

Same.
Ohh, and also put it x 200 in some engine with animations and show us frame rate.

Because they were almost ready to launch in 2005 ? You can still see some familiar textures and models on these screenshots - and they are slowly remaking them all to 2010 graphics standards.

Awesome! Looks like 2010 may be a very good year for Darkfall.

mods look at this and run it as a story. It is a barely clothed detailed female human model! How can the nerd masses resist!
downloading the new patch. Says it has visual updates for trees, rocks, and some harvesting tools.
patch notes
..... and visual updates to more spell effects
Yes, it's definitely getting better and better.

AV is really clever, they built the skeleton, and now they are slowly fleshing it out.
I believe DF will be one of the most succesful MMOs in due time.
Funny how this game was supposed to be Vaporware.................how things change, don't they?
OMFG!!! Now thing's will look pretty while you stare at your avatar chopping away for hours one end.............yawn.
I"m liking the model changes so far. I still really want to see what the Mahirim changes will be.
Current: None
Played: WoW, CoX, SWG, LotRO, EVE, AoC, VG, CO, Ryzom, DF, WAR
Tried: Lineage2, Dofus, EQ2, CoS, FE, UO, Wurm, Wakfu
Future: The Repopulation, ArcheAge, Black Desert, EQN
Can't wait to see the new Alfar models.
Perhaps you should aim for higher peaks than chopping wood eh?
same here man, I hope mahirim look more intimidating than how they look now.
Awesome to see a company fine tuning their MMO, whether its only small tweaks or not. NCwest should learn form Darkfall...lol

Good news no matter how you slice it.
I am impressed. If i can look at my avatar without throwing up i might reconsider. And if the UI gets worked on...
Well done indeed.

I think he was referring to chopping up bodies, not wood.
