You are right Skatty, it is when the Mayan calender indicates the equinox of the universe. The Mayan calendar does not continue beyond this date. Scary huh ?

After the debackle of AOC i doubt most gamers will take anything Funcoms puts out to seriousley until the game has been out a few months. This is just the op's hope to hype it somewhat and Funcoms track record says the game will be released to early and will need several months and patches to be playable. AOC still has problems and will continue too in the near future.

Essentially it represents the end of a 5000 year cycle for them, no where does it say anything at all about the end of the world. No, no, it's the media that decided it probably meant the end of the world, and then of course us in America love this idea, regardless of how factually correct it is.

If you take a look at TSW's forum for 5 or 10 minutes you will learn, rather quickly, that the countdown on the main page IS for that apocalyptic date... however, that is NOT the release date of the game.
It's just to give the feel of secrecy and doom. It's been confirmed all over that the game will be released before Dec-20-2012.

Actually the film was produced by Columbia Pictures, which is a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Entertainment which is a subsidiary of Sony Entertainment Inc, which is the TV and movie production arm of a Japanese conglomerate named Sony... So actually the Japanese paid for the movie to get made if you want to get technical.

Yes, they got the entire country together so we could all chime in on the 2012 movie. We unanimously agreed it should be made and all have script writing credits.
Besides, it seems that there are many movies of questionable value made in other countries as well.
Perhaps Mr. Boll might chime in on the discussion.

In this intervju 7januar this year the director of the Canadian departement say that TSW wil be finished in 18-24months sow in H2 2011(july-des).
