Any similarity to Meridian 59?

Just started really reading up on Darkfall today.  Been watching videos and such.  I heard about it a long time ago, but then heard about the launch issues, and decided to just wait.

 

My favorite mmo of all time is Meridian 59, and this game seems very similar.  Open world pvd, full loot, no levels, skill based, etc..

Any old m59 players agree?

 

Think i might just jump in tomorrow and see.
