Thinking of buying?

Well my guild and I have been in Mortal Online and since it's almost in Open Beta I wanted to tell everyone what's up.

 

First off, to play you'll need to pay 60 USD THEN pay 15 bucks a month. Secondly, you'll have to deal with the fact that there will be no North American Server. PVP is a slide fest and European players slide through you in battle.

When you log in, it will take about 30 seconds before weight, clothing or NPC's are taken into effect. But you can move of course, I guess that's a good thing...right??

But guess what!? Act now and you can have your account that you bought the game with bugged! That's right! I had to make 3 accounts on their website to be able to pay 60 USD to get nothing but a virtual promise of ownership.

So basically you can come into the EU server, pay ridiculous amounts of money and assuming you can get a working account, you can stay on their server. Long enough to get your guild set up, realize there's no space for houses or guild towns and end up getting booted to another server whenever they deem it releasable. THEN deal with the fact that it's horribly unbalance, guilds have been split and everyone is thoroughly screwed.

 

This is not a rant, but I paid 60 USD to find out that I can't play the game. There is no support and the Swedes couldn't care less about their customers. Darkfall has given rise to the same financial games in other companies. Wait till you have to buy the game again to play on the NA server a year later. Just wait 8)

 

For those of you still supporting the game, you probably supported Darkfall Online too. For those of you about to buy this game, think again, try OPEN beta while it's free. Those of us who paid to play are lamenting our loss.

My bad, I'm in beta with a lot of other people. I guess I didn't consider the next 48 hours.

 

I've been in beta a long time and have a guild here. When I found out that what would be happening with the servers I cringed. So regardless of the exact day when open beta starts, the points are truthful and the same. My guild will be using FRAPS and showing everyone just how fucked up this company is.

I think that is good advice.  At this point no one should take my advice, or anyone elses... simply login to the game and play for an hour.  See what there is to do.. see if you enjoy it.  If you do... then buy it...  If you don't save your cash.

Thank you Slap. I wish someone had shared all the info with me that I have now, before I bought the game.

 

 

While it's free, try the game guys. But when you see pigs walking on their heads, try to fight someone or realize there's nothing to do but chase deer, don't be surprised. Or when you have people walk up to you naked, and steal all your inventory without being flagged for guards.

But at least he noticed the mistake he said, thought he was some troll spewing lies.

I haven't played for two weeks but I hear completely what the OP is saying.

 

In my subjective opinion the game at the minute is utter tosh and I would advise greatly not to part with hard earned cash in its

current state.

I want a game that isnt bugged and has a US server. I wouldnt recommend a game that costs 60$ and sucks before it even comes out. Unless they fix all the bugs and lag i wont but it.

Well it seems every time someone shares the truth about a game they get called a troll.

 

I have no problem sharing what I know about what's going on unless there's an NDA to sign. You can call me a troll if you want, but I'm not going to sit here and flame you. I'm going to try to keep people from wasting 60 dollars on something that will cause them more pain than pleasure.

 

And to the guys above me, thanks for helping me get the point across. I'm not trying to "troll" just save people a lot of trouble and money.

Good post SimperFi, I gotta agree with most of it.  Game is in late alpha / early beta stage with no content.  Waste of money.

don't complain about no NA server, that was the plan since day one. but I guess you never bothered to check it before you bought the game.

and while some NA players experience bad performance I know and heard of many without a problem, but then again I also heard of European players with bad performance

 

the rest has been talked about already, so no reason to repeat it... again.

you do know theres a few more patches before release lto fix bugs and add in more content. BTw i live in the us and i really dont have them issues

Its your truth though and not everyones. I made one account, bought the game and downloaded with zero issue. Game is a bit laggy but pvp is not unplayable and my ping is around 198 living in Ohio. Does it need a ton of work? You bet your ass it does. But is it the downfall of all humanity? Nope. People have said the same thing about many games...doom, gloom, dont play and they are still around. Talking about EVE when it launched and DF as well. There are as many people who havent had issues as have and like all MMO launches we have the sky is falling stuff. I am guilty of it at times as well and admit that but rarely is it this bad.

It's pretty funny that Americans get to feel how we Europeans have felt for ages, being forced to play on American servers with much higher ping.

For most games it really doesn't matter much. A 300 ping vs 75 ping when playing the average MMORPG isn't a big deal.  When playing a twitch based game though... it's huge.   Everyone knows that in an FPS ping is king and since MO is created along those lines and even uses an FPS engine.. well.. it stands to reason that pings will have a big impact on your performance in game.

So now both Americans and Europeans know exactly how us Aussies feel then. Stop whining about a bad ping, fuck sake.
