    @bluebawles

If you read any of my previous threads you will see that I agree that I was a sucker for 'pre-ordering' MO. I'm currently playing Darkfall after 10 years of Asheron's Call. You can laugh. But you will never laugh harder than I'm laughing at myself for pre-ordering Mortal Online and the comment that @AngrySully wrote above.

In sandbox games, content is mainly created by players.

MO wont have quests in the way most themepark games have them.

There will be handfull of EPIC quests that will requiere the effort and team work of a lot of people, maybe entire server population, and will change the game world permanently. For example the awekining of a huge mob/god, the destruction of entire town, the death of an emperor, etc.

There also will be "tasks" that will be given by NPC to new players. For example if a newb goes to the guild of the mages and wants to climb in the rank he might be asked to start collecting some basic reagents, etc.

Finally, the biggest bulk of content as I said will come from fellow players.  A crafter may pay you to collect some stone or ore for him. A player town may pay a bounhunter to kill a group of reds and so on and so forth.

having said this, right now what is being tested in MO is the basic core features. The frame. Once its balanced and works fine, the tools we will need to make content will come at a stady pace.

You may stay arround and have fun and offer constructive critism.

Or you may go and grind your way in Aion or any other clone of WoW. Its matter of taste really.

if  the lack of a feature is a feature, Mortal online could very well be the most complete game of the decade

    happy opposites day folks

The absence of a feature can be called a feature? Oo..wtf!

Thats easy. Lets apply your logic to some other MMO.

The following features have been added to WoW :

    - THe absence of a housing system.

    - The absence of a classless character progression.

    - The absence of craftable flying buttmonkeys.

    More will be added soon!

They could make a game where they put you in  white room and say "Have fun!!!" But no, we buy games so the game will bring the imagination out of us. The game supplies the materials, you just fill in the gaps. Like in art class. Teacher supplies the materials, you make your own painting. The world is the paint, but we are left without a brush and paper...The colors (world) look pretty and shiny, but what are we to do with it?

^^^Of course there is finger painting. Let's leave Starvault to clean up the mess after were done ;D

    HAHA,

I think people are getting the wrong idea here, though calling something not there a feature is definitely bad wording. When I think of what people are trying to explain, it seems they're saying the game is designed to be played like a simulation of it's environment. Instead of doing quests the game play is focused on creating guilds/towns and building armys. The developers "plan" seems to be this way anyway, much like end game in EVE it's all about creating and building more so than adventuring and being told a story, or being the hero of the land.

The problem is MO seems to lack the proper tools to create things, a sanbox needs.
