Rofl at the nerdrage.  I always love the: "I PLAYED THIS GAME SINCE DAY ONE BUT THAT'S IT BLIZZARD! YOU'VE GONE TOO FAR THIS TIME!!"  response.

/sarcasm That guy really got blizzard good, I'm sure they are really kicking themselves in regret now. /sarcasmoff

I'd love to see a Blizzard rep come back and post something like, "Man, those words really sting hard, maybe I"ll just have to plug my ears with all the money you've given us over the years!" LOL

And yet, despite the questionableness of the authenticity of his words, you seemingly missed all the very valid points he makes.

That is exactly right, and we're not saying NO to save WoW, because it is already a lost cause. We are saying NO to dissuade the next group of greedy suits who decide to emulate Blizzard and Cryptic, etc.
We can prevent some of the future games from spewing this crap, but the sooner we start saying no, the better the results will be.
So - Stand up, pull up your pants, and walk away.

This guild had cleared the 10man instance through the LK, and knew how the throne of the Lich King worked.

To clear this up for anyone...

At a certain point(s) in the fight, some of the throne falls down and is gone for some time. There is very limited space for the fight with lots of areas of damage.  During some of these points, a certain mob would pick a player up, and attempt to drop them off the edge.  The drop point of the person picked up, is over where the throne is now gone.

What Ensidia was doing, over and over, was using a "Saronite bomb" AIMED at where the throne fell down, causing a glitch that made it respawn.  Thus, instead of killing the npc that picks the person up, which causes them to lose very valuable time killing the boss which could lead to an enrage (kills the entire raid in seconds), they can safely ignore that npc, and just kill the boss.

They did not do this just once and get suspended. They did it a number of times, AND people in their guild leveled engineering just for this.

This is NOT the first time this guild (current/Nihilism or whatever) have done exploits to get world firsts. There are pictures of their guild using an exploit to down yogg saron hardmode. It is the first time they were banned.  They think that blizzard owes them something for what they do.  And they should have gotten more than a 3 day suspension.

how was a Siege Damage bomb used in the LK fight? Did it damn him, or something in the scripted fight?

Hopefully Blizzard will check more closely what they are up to in the future. Exploiters deserves to be permanently banned, especially those that does it over and over again.

The exploit was caused by a single rogue who used Saronite Bombs throughout the fight.

Apparently the siege damage caused by the bombs bugged the encounter's mechanics and respawned the platform destroyed by the Lich King during the encounter (this bug has been hotfixed already, so this info is of no use to would be exploiters). It resulted in the fight being easier because you end up with more room to move and more importantly, you do not have to care about Valkyrs taking away your raid members anymore (they will just land on the rebuilt platform when they fall down).

The problem with the Saronite Bombs is simple, a lot of rogues have been using them for the past months (and it's been documented on ElitistJerks for quite some time now) and a lot of high-end rogues who like to maximize their DPS just consider it part of their normal DPS rotation.

However, in this case the use of them came back to bite Ensidia in the rear.

This made me chuckle, that would be quite comical indeed :)

Riiiight, and those people who found out after one patch that if they transferred gold to someone, then zoned, their gold all reappeared in their inventory, but was also still in the other person's inventory - they were totally innocent, and it was a coincidence that they then zoned back and forth, transferring that gold to other people, giggling hysterically. Of course they didn't know it was an exploit. That's just how the game must be intended to be, right?

There is a significant difference between finding a bug and exploiting a bug. I am absolutely sure that all those super-elite Ensidia guys would know that difference. After all, they're the pros right? So much better than us noobs?

I'd be willing to put money on Blizzard having chat logs of them deliberately using the tactic, knowing what was going on.

First off I have to laugh at the thought of anyone in WoW being considered "pro's". That is a joke and anyone can be a "pro" at WoW.

Second I doubt they would have chat logs on them as if they were "pros" and smarter then the average noob then they would have used TS/Vent to discuss these "tactics".

Ahh, but that's just how they think of themselves. I agree - it's hilarious.

And you'd be surprised at just how stupid some people are.  People were quite happy to discuss the duping exploit in game while trying to exploit it as much as possible. And before Blizzard found out.

You would think that they'd be more careful. But everything I've ever seen around this kind of thing has shown how people are actually usually a lot less intelligent than they think.

Actually, in their Lich KIng kill pictures, the chat box is blacked out, PRESUMABLY because they were discussing their exploit in chat.

So, yeah... They've boned themselves over, really.

Oh, and by the way, there's no chance in hell that they "accidentally" exploited this bug. It requires you to use significantly different tactics to exploit the bug than you would do during a normal fight.
