Box version came in the mail today

The box is rather plain looking and smells like crap. The disk was scratched up because it cannot fit on the holder. Why? because for some reason there are two holders practically next to each other. Yes flame me for buying a box version, let alone the game, I deserve it. On the plus side, the box is made out of metal.
I'm not even gonna bother to see if the disk works.

Just don't try and USE the DVD for actually installing the game....but just think.. they promised to mail out a useable one at launch. Given the time the box took to arrive.. you should be receiving your working installation disc just about the time your free month is up!

I got my box in the mail today too and I would have rather recieved it at a later time. They only shipped them when they did because of people telling lies to their cc company for chargebacks and others bitching about wantng the box before the game even released.
Now those same people are bitching that the box has a dvd on it with an old client.
The lesson here: Stop bitching and lying as a way to force people to do things, and for the devs: stop listening to people nitpicking about everything.

I was honestly debating on buying a boxed copy of this game because the game sounded great...in theory. But the delivery so far, has been atrocious. Granted yes, it is a stress test on the servers atm. But It took me over 3 days to patch, as I didn't realize the whole torrent portion. But once I did, got it all sorted out and such. Next headache is trying to get the game functioning. It crashes way to often, and yes again, I know its beta/stress test. But if this game is due in the first quarter of this year, they have a month to get things all straightened out, and honestly I don't see that happening. There is no way in hell you are getting 40 dollars from me until I see a half working beta...because Star Vault doesn't even have that yet.
I ordered box version as a mistake. within 3 days I wanted to chargeback, but I decided to handle it with the "devs".
I got a msg here on MMORPG.com and a e-mail back saying they refunded my purchase and to allow a few days for it to process.
Now there has been no refund, no game shipped to me, and no e-mail back from the devs about why they lied to me (I have e-mail and everything)
I cant even complain about wasting $80.00 and getting a crappy product! I cant even get a response.

well they know there game has issues. theye ven said its not going ot be perfect at release it will be alot better than what we are seeing right now. but there letting people decide with out hiding ther game if they want to support them to help them make this a great game.

I realized that when I purchased the game, They made it seem like the game was entering the Beta stage at the time though when it is in alpha. To be honest, they had great concepts but I came to my senses that most of them are not going to happen, even big name production companies have a hard time delivering on promises and these guys can't even get to beta w/o player funding. I wish Mortal success but I won't be cashing in on my free month of play anytime soon.

I received my box too today. I was shocked but not surprised to find my metal box badly dented in and a scratched all over DVD!
The whole box set looked home made! I could have done a better job!
All the crap this company (made up of inexperienced kids) has mounted to has left me with no desire to support the devs, promote or have anything to do with the game anymore...
I'm thoroughly disappointed with SV...
Actually your free month will be used automatically as soon as the game is announced as launching. You cannot postpone it.

Heh, I got mine while reading this thread. Strange, because mine turned out to have its side which hold the two flaps on the container together, 75% ripped out! It wasn't even closed properly, and the disk was loose inside of the case. Multiple dents found on it. The CD doesn't even fit on the holder inside. Can't believe I paid 80 dollars for this... Oh yeah, the outside is made up of cheap metal, which you can invert by pushing on it. The inside is made of plastic. I pre-ordered Mortal Online and all I got was this dismembered fucking box and outdated CD. Don't even really care about how the game turns out, this leaves a permanent impression of fucking me over. Guess I learned the hard way not to pre-order.
One disc, no manual, nice box. $70.00 well spent.
I'm ashamed to be 50% Swedish. This game is the biggest money grab in the history of online gaming & I'm very sorry I was suckered in.
In the months since my purchase I've discovered Darkfall is 100x the game this ever will be.

The game is and will be a failure. It is unfortunately a model and a great example of what independent developers should never do. The developers at Starvault should of kept a slow pace and not fell into the hype of the game. They should of taken their time. Unfortunately I spent about 100$ for the limited edition version, which I'm ashamed of. I was a sucker, admitted it previously; lesson well learned. I hope the game does make it to the one year mark. I just don't see how it is possible at the moment. I have yet to receive my game as well with the 'bonuses.'
@downtoearth, I don't mean to be rude but if you believe that supporting them will somehow magically help this game then you are about as "down to earth" as Pluto.
The developers at Starvault are simply too young and there are key positions needed for an undertaking of creating an MMO that are vacant. I am sure that Starvault originally meant well with Mortal Online. However, the truth is upon us and they bit off more than they can chew.
Im in the same boat KalTheo. The funny thing is at DF's release with all the bad press I was SURE MO would be 100x better than Darkfall. I also got a Limited Edition I have yet to recieve and About a month ago I caved in and bought Darkfall. I'm not going to even try MO at release after the time I have spent in beta already. I will not touch that game until at least one year from its release. That is to say if it still alive, please prove me wrong SV. Keep kickin it, but like ive said before , I have made my investment in your company already. You get no more until your game is playable.
