Anyone know a decent computer that can run EQ2 on medium smoothly? I am looking at buying custom, but im not too sure. I really like the 939 socket CPUs for AMD, and the geforce 6800 gt 256mb. Anyone have any links for a good computer for around 1000-1500 with a moniter, nothing realy great, just enought to get me by playing smoothly.

For that amount of money and if you build it yourself, you can get the latest and greatest. Although, it's a bit tight if you're considering the Athlon 64 FX, those are high end server CPUs..
Buy all the parts and build it..either you'll save money, or you'll be able to get a better computer this way.
For the price range you are looking at building a computer for, I would strongly encourage you looking instead at www.ibuypower.com. They have truly kick-ass performing machines in that price range, you can customize them any way you like, and they offer stellar service! I have bought from them and know of a few other people that love them... Also their rigs look way cool too. I compared a machine similar to what it sounds like what you want, and priced all the parts out on pricewatch.com and you'll end up saving money and getting better tech support, warranty, and a cooler looking computer at ibuypower vs building it yourself. Anyhow, check it out, I think that you can get a LOT of machine for the $ there and I also know that they have won some awards for best bang for your buck and best service from a couple pretty big computer magazines.
Hope that helps.

Ok now.. you spend like $50 on a game wich will ask you for a monthly fee of $14 + - .
Then you go and spend another $2000 in a pc computer system to play it at 'top performance'...
Theres something here very strange..
1st - Even a pc 2 or 3 years old is more than enough to run eq2 well. Even with low settings, the game looks pretty nice and fluid.
2nd - Even if you bought a $2000 pc system you wouldnt be able to run eq2 with all the options maxed since only in 1 or 2 years will be pc systems availble to do so..
Point is... Dont get a new pc system just for eq2.. pick those $2000 and go with your girlfriend/wife/sons or whoever you like the most to some place special since they will miss you while you spent hours and hours playing eq2

well, I an understand him.
I curently run an AMD 700 with 512 MB and a Radeon 9600. Not enough for EQ2 I guess... So I too will be upgrading, just to play this game. again, yes, just to play EQ2.
I will only be spending about 700 bucks only though (AMD3000, 80 GB HD, DVD Burner, 1 GB RAM, fx5900).
go and get this new puter :-D
