That's awesome. Glad you like it. I will probably buy it since it's on sale for $39.95 at several stores this week just because of all the raves on here about it. The graphics and movies do look incredible. I can certainly see how it could be like the most immersive mmo ever if the graphics look anything like their last movie. *whew*.
EQ2 made a brilliant move by changing the release date from Nov 16 to Nov 9 to get another week up on WoW. I am very curious to see it.

Have to agree. Didnt expect all that much, but Im amazed so far. The launch is the best Ive seen, very smoth, and the game give a very polished and finished feeling.
Perhaps its time for me to revaule SOE and mmorpg games... time will tell
.............
When in doubt, troll.
I agree as well. Never played EQ before so I didnt know what to ekspect from EQ2.
But my god its great! Alot to learn and fun quests! The gameplay is fast to learn, and they have a great tutorial if your a nOOb like me to get to moving along!
The bad thing imo, is finding out were to go. Sometimes i get up this guiding trail of light that u follow to your quest etc, but it seems to be bugged because it disapears once in a while.
The map is not very detailed, and i find myself running around looking for the quest NPC.
I also miss more customization when u lvl, dont really like the automatic stats thing...Anarchy Online is still the best when it comes to that.
But all in all, it IS a fun game!
I picked up my copy of Everquest II on Monday night, Nov. 8th. I love my EBGames for having it for me so I didnt have to wait another day. A lot of my guildmates and friends ordered directly from SOE and were getting their copies early.
I took the game home and put it down on the table, I wanted so bad to install and get into playing, but I had to cook dinner and stuff, so as I cooked I stared at the box, imaging what it would be like when I got to play.
I had to go out after dinner, so I brought the game upstairs and placed it on my computer desk. I opened the very cool tin box and read through the manual a litte bit, hung my poster, looked at the maps, flipped my collectors coin, and then sadly left.
When I got home it was late, maybe 11:30 pm. I was dying to play EQ2. So once I got out of the shower I ran to my computer and grabbed the DVDs. I thought to myself . . . self, maybe it would be a good idea to clean up the computer first, get rid of all unwanted games and software, defrag, search for all updated drivers, and just optimize everything for the installation and game. My PC is brand new, customized just for Everquest II, so I didnt have much to do . . .
At midnight, I installed Everquest II. With the two DVDs, it went surprisingly fast! I was expecting an ordeal similar to Final Fantasy XI or something. It was a pleasure just to install the game! I was having happy thoughts. I entered my Station name and password, created a billing account, loaded my character from the ore-ordered character creation tool, and got into Antonia Bayle, Roleplaying Preferred Server. The game was loading!
I played Everquest II. I played and played, and then I played some more. The night turned to day, the time for work came and went as I sat there playing. Breakfast was skipped, lunch was skipped, the dog just had to hold it in until I eventually had to go (not really, I did let him out, but I held it for the most part).
Everquest II is the most awesome, completely immersive, fun fun fun mmorpg I have ever had the pleasure of playing, so far. The thing that most stands out to me is the environments, how everything is brought to life, from the NPC walking around talking to you and eachother, carrying out their daily activities, the birds flying overhead, the trees swaying and the grass moving as I walk through it, the sights and sounds are incredible.
The quests are enjoyable, and the way they are implemented is nice, not only can you get them by talking to NPCs, but you may find a item that leads you to a quest.
Travelling is easy. My character can run, of course. I choose to walk. I walked all over Qeynos looking around at everything. I must have spend an hour or two just walking and enjoying the scenery.
The gameplay was smooth, there was no lag at all for me, and I did not see more than a couple of bugs that didnt effect gameplay much at all. I did crash a few times, but out of the 15+ hours Ive spent playing so far, it was no trouble.
Combat is fun. It was fast paced, engaging, and balanced. I loved the Herioc Opportunity, which I used often to gain increased performance in battle. As I leveled up I saw nice development in my characters traits and abilities.
Ive got goals, both my own personal agenda and my guild goals. Whenever I play a mmorpg, I look for its potential to keep me interested for the long run. I look for things that I may want to do or become later on in the game, or things I want to see. I find out what I like and set goals to achieve. I try to make a name for myself and my guild. The games overall potential is important. I can see myself spending as much time, or more in Everquest II as I did in the original, and that was a lot of time . . .
I wont say a word here about World of Warcraft, I mentioned my opinions about it in its own forum. What I will say is that Ive now played both WoW and EQ2, and it is clear to me now that Everquest II is the game for me.
great game i love the graphics, and the sounds really put you into the game i just cant stop playing this game, and for any EQ fans or non fans this is just a great game PERIOD.
