Well, saying that the programmers team is bunch of guys which does not know how to finish the game is quite strong cafe. I am surprised you were not banned from the forums. If you wanted some more decent reply, in my opinion, you should have watched your words first.

I'm surprised they didn't delete that entire thread to hide it from the public.  The OP is asking tough legit questions though.

I know. And a mod too lazy to provide help or answers for ANYTHING (only moving threads and leaving everything to the community) in a broken game- He sure had the time to be rude.

Sadly this kind of raging back and forth is found in every thread on those forums... just not usually from the moderation team.

Here is a link to someone who dug out the Developers quotes on their experience as part of that thread:

Look on the bright side- They are working hard on making sure /emotes are in the game.

EDIT: Man you edited on me =(

I like how he said the game was in alpha and open beta all at once. Isn't it going to be released in a few days?

No, its not really, no excuse for rude or ignorant behavior from either side.  Being a potential customer does not give a person the right to be an arse.

Harden up folks, this is a game made for the thick skinned.  Can't take the forum PVP, don't play.

Does it really matter? If somebody would take an hour reading through the forum they would get an understanding of how the game is....the bottom line is everyone has a choice, you either buy the game or not. Many people skip through everything in their excitement, buy the game, only to be disappointed and start blaming people as if somebody robed them at gun point.

Most "companies" would simply delete/warn/edit the post in question.   Making fun of posters, taunting them and stalking them is not the way to moderate a forum...

No, it doesn't give a person the right to be an arse, but it certainly doesn't stop someone. If you've ever worked with customers a good too many of them think they can speak to you anyway they wish. Guess what? For the most part they can. The boss doesn't care if he cussed you out. He cares if he bought something from you. One needs to stay profressional enough to not stoop down to the level of the infantile.

If someone gets snarky with me I stay professional. I don't attack the person, I don't act like I don't care, and I don't defend myself. I get to the main point of the issue. The mod could have easily said he had all the faith in the world that the devs were up to the task, and they had enough experience to get the job done. After that who is the only one who looks like an arse?

Hey, I was the 3rd guy to post in that thread, yay I'm almost kinda sorta nearly just about popular!!!

Somehow I never noticed that StJudas posted, that was kind of harsh and unprofessional of him, but I certainly don't hold it against him. I'd feel the same way if I worked hard on something and some random person came up and told me to just give up that I don't have the skill to finish whatever it is and if I try I'm going to fail. If you look at both sides of the argument Downfall was just as much out of line as StJudas was. Tho I still think he could have been a little more respectful.

In the adult business world, we're required to bite out tongues and behave with professional decorum regardless of how much of a jackass the customer is. That part of being a professional. It's a shame this has to be explained to you. There is no excuse for attacking a customer with a legitimate question, even if the question is unpleasent.

Both cutomers and developers should try and act professional.

About time a dev team doesn't just kiss ass, if someone is rude customer or not they deserve to get their ass chewed.

The OP (the one on MO site, not here) was very rude, but still, most companies' community managers are hired in part because they can keep their temper. For some reason I am thinking of posts by developers in "Mourning."

I approved of what St.Judas did.

That "customer" does not belong in our community and his money does not give him any special rights or make him entitled to any special handling.

If it takes a Mod chewing him out to get him to leave, then so be it. If you have an issue with the way St.Judas handled it, or do not believe any Representative should ever handle a situation like that...

Feel free to leave... or perhaps send him a strongly worded PM informing him of your beliefs.

You approve of a company "chewing out" a potential customer?  Why do you want everyone to leave the MO community if they ask tough questions?  Is it because they are not "hardcore" enough to stay with MO/SV?  You know that SV needs as much money as possible as they had to open this beta up to the public just to try and make a few more bucks to survive until release.  Why are you approving of alienating potential customers that can keep SV alive?

I know your a fan, but a company raging against the guy in public is very unprofessional and the admin should get his powers revoked.

As someone who works in the customer service industry and has to deal with rude customers on a daily basis, I disagree entirely.

I get verbally beatdown every day, and I have to keep my cool if I want to keep my job, it isn't rocket science.

If I can manage to do this working at a call centre that contracts out to two of the largest ISPs in North America (and as a result our volume of calls received is exceptionally large), then I would certainly hope that someone who is a Community Manager on a small, private project would be able to do the same.

Sorry, but yes, the customer is always right - and any decent employee will suck it up and just do the job required of them. This is standard practice in every single customer service position I've ever been employed at.

I don't play Mortal, and I have no plans on it in the near future... that said...

The OP basciaclly tossed out a bunch of assumptions, disrespect,  rumours, and generally bashed the entire development team.

Is the response proffesional? Is it "politicaly correct"?  No, not even close. Is this the new business model of the future? Nope. Will that CA get reprimanded, probably.

The customer is always right... I can agree with that, but if you basically want to slander a company on a website, please don't cry when you are called out. Could the CA worded a little better? Sure. But honestly, I don't fault him... though i'm sure his boss does :p

If the post was deleted, I'm willing to bet that would have been brought up by the OP here as well.

Actually this display reminded me of the Black knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.  The way he was raging for the customer to come back and fight (did you fall asleep at the keyboard!!!!) just made me think of the Black Knight (The Admin) and Arthur (The OP):

BLACK KNIGHT: I move for no man.

    ARTHUR: So be it!

    [hah]

    [parry thrust]

[ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's left arm off]

ARTHUR: Now stand aside, worthy adversary.

BLACK KNIGHT: 'Tis but a scratch.

ARTHUR: A scratch? Your arm's off!

    BLACK KNIGHT: No, it isn't.

    ARTHUR: Well, what's that then?

    BLACK KNIGHT: I've had worse.

    ARTHUR: You liar!

BLACK KNIGHT: Come on you pansy!

    [hah]

    [parry thrust]

[ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's right arm off]

    ARTHUR: Victory is mine!

    [kneeling]

We thank thee Lord, that in thy merc-

    [hah]

    BLACK KNIGHT: Come on then.

    ARTHUR: What?

    BLACK KNIGHT: Have at you!

ARTHUR: You are indeed brave, Sir knight, but the fight is mine.

BLACK KNIGHT: Oh, had enough, eh?

ARTHUR: Look, you stupid bastard, you've got no arms left.

    BLACK KNIGHT: Yes I have.

    ARTHUR: Look!

BLACK KNIGHT: Just a flesh wound.

    [bang]

    ARTHUR: Look, stop that.

    BLACK KNIGHT: Chicken! Chicken!

ARTHUR: Look, I'll have your leg. Right!

    [whop]

BLACK KNIGHT: Right, I'll do you for that!

    ARTHUR: You'll what?

    BLACK KNIGHT: Come 'ere!

ARTHUR: What are you going to do, bleed on me?

    BLACK KNIGHT: I'm invincible!

    ARTHUR: You're a loony.

BLACK KNIGHT: The Black Knight always triumphs!

Have at you! Come on then.

    [whop]

[ARTHUR chops the BLACK KNIGHT's other leg off]

BLACK KNIGHT: All right; we'll call it a draw.

    ARTHUR: Come, Patsy.

BLACK KNIGHT: Oh, oh, I see, running away then. You yellow

bastards! Come back here and take what's coming to you.

    I'll bite your legs off!
