Yeah I would because I believe that this game will have things that no other games have developed yet in a mmorpg, so yep if it was p2p I most definitely would pay for this game...
Blade and Soul is one of the few mmos that I am looking forward to right now, along with The Secret World. So far from what I have seen of Balde and Soul it looks good. I like the speed of the combat system and the small things like wall running. Just really stands out among all the other mmos released. So I will gladly pay for it if it is any good when it actualy releases. If it is free to play though with an item shop I will not touch it at all. Either they go the route of Guild Wars, of pay to play for me.

lol guildwars has an item mall so I dont see why you wouldnt play B&S if it did, and guildwars is instanced except main hubs if B&S did that i wouldnt touch it free or pay

You missed the point I was making about guild wars. I was refering to the way they they use the expansions to continue adding more content. It is a nice way of doing things since the packs are not required and they give the players more freedom to come back to the game whenever they want.
I also didn't know they added an item mall, and didn't refer to that at all, or the instancing that they use in the game. Nice job focusing on just Guild Wars though, and adding more things than what I actually said.

As far as the point you were making about Guildwars sry didnt see you making a point in your post you just said it should go the route of GW or p2p
I was just saying I wouldnt touch B&S if it was instanced like guildwars(that is the only reason it's free to play as far as I know) I have no problem with f2p games with item malls cuz I can spend what I want when I want if I want to or not, I dont pvp much so it doesnt bother me that much but yea they arent good if its pvp orientated and your wallet determines your advantage
Depending on if i'm into another MMO and could play that as back up.
~But, i would not buy the game with a no Subscript fee.
--Reasons:
Tend to have a lot of cheap people who don't want to pay for games, with the huge portion of that being little kids who talked their parents into giving them money or using money through steam.(Hate under age morons, specially when they claim it then annoy with mic uselessness)
Lack of balance, or aim to make you spend money through a item shop. Better items more money you pay, or more exp. Becomes less about skill and playing the game.
Prob would have a lack of Staff, meaning even more bots would show up.
Cheap Servers, and lag would show eventually.
Getting more patch updates would be bought expansions, or would be determined on how well the item shop has sold things.
---Several more if you think what is bad about that idea. Only good thing i can see out of it, is i can come back later on and still play another MMO. 15 dollars a month isn't much, if you don't have the money your either to young, or you can't get a job (Or to lazy to get one)
I don't know yet. I don't purchase MMOs solely based on reviews, videos, threads, or whatever that doesn't come from my own experience and feeling. The determining factor for me is playing a valid trial/demo/"beta".
Plus we still have to know more, if it's going to be P2P, if it's going to be "F2P", though NCSoft has never released a Pay to Win MMO, they seem to prefer their MMOs dead over turning them into cash shop pay for instant gratification based revenue (that's quite some ethics on sticking on a business model).
I am not sure the it will be a F2P, because NCSoft's other games. But back to the question of would I pay. If I base it off of the reviews and videos, I would. However, I am not one to make such whimsical decisions.
P.S. Anyone else think that B&S looks kind of like a platform game?
it seem to be a P2P game since NCsoft will be its publisher. Based on my experience with Aion, the game is fine; but customer support is awful.
i personally wouldn't pay for the game but i wouldnt mind paying for monthly subscription. B/c it took me about 100+ dollars to start Aion just to find out that once i got the game....that is it (install and play quietly or quit the game and its my lost). I think NCsoft make more money selling these games than having actually players paying for their monthly subscriptions.
if you watched the interview of B&S. there are clues showing that, this game will only comes live when aion starts to lose its attraction. Okay, a game that just came out less than a year starting to lose its costumers at a dramatic rate? there is something wrong with it or the way they manage it. man, the game really interest me but i dont know what will happen.
Based on the little we can see, what we currently know and NCSoft's track record, I plan on buying it. I'm looking forward to it more than any other title at the moment.
I definitely hope that NCSoft West will be better staffed and funded, with better quality Customer Service in place, than they were when Aion launched or even are at the current moment. In spite of the current frustrations I have with NCSoft West, however, it's by no means a deal breaker. They are far from perfect, but they are still much better than SoE (who will find a way to kill any MMO they touch).
I'm tired of people saying "if it's a good game, I hope it's f2p". I mean what the hell guys if it's gonna be a good game then I think it's worth paying to play it both by our perspective and company's. Besides there has to be a difference in quality between f2p games and p2p games.
If I enjoy the free trial, then yes, I would. I would never pay for a game without trying it out first for free, because I would rather not waste money subscribing or buying something that I end up not liking. Subscription fees are not a problem for me since I now have a debit card, so yes, I wouldn't mind it if they had a subscription fee. Of course, I would much rather they followed the Guild Wars buy-to-play route, but if it is worth a subscription, I wouldn't mind paying a subscription fee.
why the hell not, evreyone been paying for games that is inferior to this game already, every dam mmo out is point and click, exception with age of conan but who cares about that hideous game with hideous combat..
Most People Would Like 2 Buy From A Item Mall Or Something.
Most People Who Are Just Getting Around Would Never Play A Game What Needs Sub.
But Maybe IF They Would Follow The Guild Thing, It Would Go Out Pretty Well.
So far from what I've seen this game looks like its well worth to pay for. As far as people not being able to afford P2P games is just an excuse. A person could easily clip their neighbors yard for $15 a week or wash their car for that much, you don't really have to apply some where to make money to pay for this game. Hell even a kid who is given lunch money could set some of that aside to pay for the game everyday or week if he really wanted to pay for the sub. As far as If a person is just getting by on what they have, they need re-access their own priorites in life before even thinking about playing an online game. Over all there really is no justified reason why a person should not pay for good content.

I don't see why not. And if I liked the game I would pay a subscription as well.

I'll wait for a beta first then decide.
it's a good game.. i hope there is a no monthly subscriptions.. However i'll pay 29$ for this game..
if it is a good game then yeah, why not

afaik the game will be f2p. the devs were talking about it in the first video i seen posted on mmorpg.com
...i might be wrong since it was a while since i seen the vid. I'll try and look for it to confirm.
