I wouldn't worry too much about the 6.0 rating. Yes, it's definitely at least an 8 now but honestly, if someone is going to play the game, 10 threads showing the awesomeness of darkfall will trump any review rating any day. So if you want people to start playing, start writing up some awesome threads about your Darkfall adventures.
And I love the guy talking about how all people do is magic. Well obviously people are using magic when the enemies are far away and running. What you don't see are people shooting arrows because they aren't all shiny. And when they finally catch up to them, they'll be switching to melee.
And there is no skill cap and thats good. If there was, then you would just have another cookie cutter mmo like wow with a class based system. People being healers, melee, and magic. That takes the freedom out of the sandbox style. And no one has capped all the combat skills yet even after a year of release. Troll more.
Anyone thats tired of the wow/lotro/conan/warhammer style of gameplay will really enjoy Darkfall. Give it a try

No, I'm suggesting you pick someone who likes that type of game already. You have a trekkie review STO, so maybe you have a guy that like say Counter Strike and playing sandbox MMORPGs review it. You'll never find someone that is totaly neutral so go with the type that would be attracted to DFO.

Agreed. 6.0 is too low for DF. Yes Df was a 6 at launch but now its closer to a 8 if anything. Most people on this site rate it bad because its a ffa full loot game and they hate being ganked.

It sounds like Darkfall has allegedly addressed many of the shortcomings it had on launch, when the game was reviewed. If these issues were indeed objective rather than subjective, re-rating would indeed be worthwhile if the current one is actually swaying people from trying it.
On the topic of ratings, and I'm not trolling, I swear, but how is it there are only 2 official reviews of Darkfall on metacritic.com? I also inquired why mmorpg.com wasn't a part of metacritic. It was something they were looking into... but apparently it didn't happen.
If I was to guess, I'd say that the major media reviewers (at least those recognized by metacritic anyway) decided to "blacklist" DarkFall from reviews because of the Eurogamer episode.
It would be pretty tough to find another MMO title that has fewer reviews for it. If there is one, I'd be interested in seeing it. The problem for DarkFall now is that it is really hard to get publications to do a review of your game a year after it's been released.
It's a shame in one respect, but might have been for the best considering the condition of DarkFall at release. Perhaps Tasos will make a push to get new reviews once the DarkFall 2010 update is finished.
If anything I would say re-rate it when DF 2010 comes out since they largely seem to be aiming to overhaul many parts of the game. Maybe DF 2010 actually = the pay to play beta ends. Still very impressive for an indy dev studio.

DFO easily passes a 6 in the state its in now imo. If LOTRO is one of the top rated MMOs on this site, DFO should easily match it or even surpass it as far as I'm conserned. A re-review is about due..

That's not necessarily true. Even if there's interest, poor reviews can scare a lot of people away. Why should we care that more subscribers are being scared away? Well, the developer supporting our game requires these subscribers to afford the supporting.
I gotta say the user generated ratings on this site are jack shit and should be paid very little attention to. The only thing people should REALLY look at them for is how awful a game is (and for that aspect im referring to the lowest rated games).
With that being said, I am 4 days into Darkfall and I think the game is great. The graphics aren't nearly as awful as people say they are. Also, I have received a ton of help from a lot of veterans and newbie players alike. I have only died once, I would like to think because of my being careful but in reality I know im just lucky enough to avoid conflict with other players.
I will say that mining, chopping wood, fishing, and basically farming any kind of mat is boring as hell. So boring that other players tell me to just macro what im doing and read a book or play my PS3. Boring as fuck but its necessary.
